Worst user interface I've yet found in this kind of a game. It's not clear which hive is selected so you accidentally end up retreating when you want to attack.
Actually I was a bit disappointed at the other side's music. These both seem to loop more noticeably than music did in the maker's earlier games. Anyhow, extremely cute drawings. How can one not like it?
The demo SUCKS. You should tell befeore sending the player on a mission that you can't even buy all of the three materials in the listing. Nothing is more disappointing than checking good prices, then noticing the game maker decided you're not supposed to trade that kind of stuff in the game.
And even worse: once you get past the beginning of the game where elevator bugs can hurt you, the game soon gets so easy it gets boring. I haven't yet even built past tenth floor and I'm making 3.4M and I have all possible sciences except maximum building height. Too repetitive at that point.
capomati: I completed the game doing only pacifist wins so I'd have to say that it's fairly doable. Just make sure to disconnect if you accidentally kill someone and start over. 36 pacifist wins so far.
I suspect this is actually better in its current form than it could ever be as a book. A collection of short stories might be closer to doing this justice but they'd be so similar that most people wouldn't read through it all. Awesome story though, this is an impressive example that you can use web games as a means of serious story-telling, not just a way to push gazillion games in which you shoot a never-ending stream of zombies/whatever else. No offense to anyone writing those games. :D
