This was another good entry but I was a bit disappointed that the poker wasn't a minigame! The game was fun and the solutions made sense. The dialogue wasn't bad. My only complaint is that too many conversation paths kick you out so I have to click on the person again if I want to keep talking to them.
About the poker game, you'll be glad to know that, developing the game, we wanted to make a minigame out of it; sadly, we lacked the resources to proceed, then :( About your complaint, you're right; it was our first game (or the second part of the first game) and we had much experience to do.
A good mix of comedy in a standard detective style game. I like the writing so far. You explain or hint at the fantastical elements well. On the one hand I rolled my eyes at everyone loving Daphne and even the mobster truly loving her and not forcing her to be with him. But then I thought "but there is this occult angle. Maybe she has a mystical power or aura." I'm interested to see but it's at least good headcanon.
Thank you very much! *_* We just wanted do make an easy and funny game, while we're on much heavier projects, and it's great to see it worked out fine! :D We're on some other projects right now but, given the time, we'd like to release another RQ episode. If you'd like to support us, just follow us on twitter or fb! ;D have a great day and keep having fun!
The bad world was nicely creepy with the woman hanging herself and one getting taken up into the saw blades. I want to know what happens next! This was an interesting idea but definitely needs more development. The only time I had to watch the nice dimension was while driving, though I did enjoy the differences, such as the woman asking Dave why he jumps all the time. My problem with the jumping is that I didn't know if I needed to hold it or not (I don't) but Dave does a second jump before his feet hit the ground so I initially made a lot of deaths. The "game over" screen is pointless and an annoying stop in play. Just respawn me at the start or do a quick fade to white or black.
I was interested by the tagline "Malfunction Guaranteed." It was fun rather than frustrating since you let me know ahead of time that command failure would happen. I liked the upgrade system, though would prefer more hidden energy nodes. Also, you say in one thing that nothing was guaranteed, so upgrades should max at 95% or something, rather than 100%. I liked that you could chance the ending without getting all the energy. I do wish something happened after failure, like the guys (two other guys obviously) indicating the new universe got to the same spot or something showing the aliens who made the device. I also liked the dialogue, especially their "next assignment."
The best things about this game are the art and the music. Seriously, I want the music as a separate file I can play on my computer or phone. The other great thing is that you actually have a good message. Lots of these games try to be profound and fail terribly. The message at the end tied into the gameplay. The only problem is that gameplay was rather boring. A little challenge would be nice. After all, achievement isn't easy. I did like the cloud that appeared to catch me when I fell.
Heya! If you liked the soundtrack, you can purchase it on Bandcamp: https://alcex.bandcamp.com/album/dreams-and-reality-original-soundtrack It includes bonus unused sounds and sheet music!
I really like your writing but the gameplay was lacking in chapter 4. I'd love to see you go back to the style of the first three.
Hey, Ethan said he likes vanilla last game! The puzzle was fun but the announcer said it was wort one point at the start and two at the end. You need to do some proofreading and editing.
I got it to work on Chrome. Another disappointment. Again, it's not a bad game but not what I have come to expect after the first three. The Felicia section worked well from a story angle but gameplay was basic and not interesting. Ina was funny again though. The dimensional debate was at least interesting.
I keep getting different errors during the "combat puzzle" section. I'll try again later, as that helped in the last episode. I like he music but it's familiar. Is it original or did you grab it from somewhere? I like your games and would hate to see you have copyright issues.
I was irritated at first. The game was fine and I liked the sneaking section and puzzles, but it wasn't Medieval Cop. I wanted my murder mystery. Then I finally got it and you made me happy with the victim, Mr. Stabbed. Perfect. The only problem is that the third clue gives the option of the time of murder. I pick that, am told I am wrong. I pick the window and Dregg explains that the testimony is wrong based on the time of murder because the sun would be shining the other way. So while Window makes sense, I was still right. That should be taken out. Finally, we knew the person in black was Eva and didn't need her to transform.
For those getting the error while sneaking, I only get it when clicking immediately after starting the invisibility. Just slow down half a second and it will be fine.
Hey, this was fun. There's not much to it, so expanding it would be cool, but I like the idea of looking for the hero. The few branching things are also interesting, though I'm on the fence if they are enough of a draw to play more. Still, I enjoyed playing.
Cool game. The last level was tough. It seems that helicopters are the way to go once unlocked and there is no advantage to trucks. The challenge is when to advance and how to optimize.
Cool game. I quit after the badge only because it's not my thing, but I really like how stage 4 was different. You put a neat game around learning a very different language. Good job!
Oh, and I love characters like Ethan and Emily. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the next set of games. I finished on Chrome. It was slow but didn't give me the error that Firefox did. It did freeze once.
This was another good entry. It was a step up in plot, linking to the broader narrative, but a step down in the case. You gave too much information up by directly saying it rather than making me figure it out. Example are a councilor being guilty or disguising as Eisen. You did a great job of the call-back to the first game, giving enough for a new player to know what was important. Why did Abbott suspect Raven though, or was it just that he thought SOMEONE was guilty? I thought they'd vote on who did it, not guilty or not since it was anonymous. Finally, the game needs more debates or at least solving puzzles.
Gameplay is ok. The monsters look cool. I love my little snake riding in the cart! The dialogue got annoying since Arche sounds like he's a very young child. Egg Knights had this problem too. My only problem is that travel becomes a pain later when you're fighting weak enemies. I also wish there was some way to know how monsters will advance to the different stages. Thankfully someone mapped it out in the comments.
