Some enemies need to "lead" their shots so that running in a circle isn't the only solution. Also, I'd like more variety in the shapes of bomb attacks, and a weapon unlocked at all bronze and all silver. The gap between 10 silver and 15 gold is large.
The best strategy seems to be to rush the early part of the level and then stall for health regen at the end of each level. Seriously, lower max health, and refill our health each level. Starting each level at 20% health is pointless.
The game's difficulty stops scaling up past what, 3k or 4k score? It gets boring after awhile, as players get past 6k or 7k not every set of symbols HAS to have a full boost. You can start phasing in sets with only a half as time goes on, so eventually when you have a very high score (20k or 30k+) you need to be near perfect in order to keep going. Otherwise it just gets too repetitive.
I've seen people saying this is too easy, but I don't see them on the highscore charts. The coolest thing about this is, I could totally have seen it in place of Minesweeper in Windows 3.1. It's that kind of impossible-to-actually-master game.
Woot 140k, going for 145k next!
Agree with some previous comments - 1/5 until that link goes away. I'd give this a 4 otherwise, but a link that I accidentally click - and then die - is not OK.
It's nice to see an Asteroid style game with controls that you can actually *control*. On the other hand, Medium and Hard just get tedious after some time, and the game started lagging late in Medium difficulty on IE. Lag on action game = not OK, it can kill you, and it made me miss a lot of shots. There's got to be some way to make Med/Hard less tedious - and maybe speed it up a bit by exchanging some of the total number of shots you have to hit for a time limit on Med/Hard?
There should be something to this game beyond, gee, I can circle strafe and paste myself to an orange ball. Some way to, I don't know, command allies to a point on the map, or some way that the AI tries to focus you down or peel you off of said orange ball. And the allies should have more of a mind to directly assist you on the oranges.
Needs a save feature.
Needs mouseover stats for units/spells BEFORE you place them, or at least give us their stats when they're first unlocked.
I'd like continues to set you up with a fresh health bar and proportional gold to your level - otherwise they're usually worthless and should just be removed.
