I was thinking this was a nice little escape game but nothing unusual and then those things showed up and aughaughaugh... Wow. And there are all these great little atmospheric touches, like the wall of newspaper clippings, it's a lot of detail in such a small game!
I don't understand how/why things get built... one side of my city went religious and built tons of churches, the other side has now built 6 parks in a row. Despite having plenty of land, nothing new gets built. Some of my old buildings have been upgraded while others have not, and new structures may be built as first level or as any of the unlocked forms. It is confusing me.
I can see how being able to control what gets built would be too much involvement for an idle game, but how about the ability to demolish? You check back in and see that your architects have gone crazy in your absence, so you tear down some structures, leaving empty space for your people to rebuild in in their own sweet time. Still uninvolved with the decision-making, but gives a little bit of control over the layout?
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the game. I just wish there was a bit more information available.
