How on earth is the hard badge possible? I had to blow up all the drums within the first three levels! The guns just aren't strong enough to beat the mobs.
While it's a fun game, I wish it was structured in a way that didn't make me feel so...sad. They're too cute to constantly die! I feel the same way about Pikmin. Make them robots.
Just a small tip, if you use your speed boost but the level ends before the speed boost runs out, it'll roll over to the next level you play without using up the one you have for that level. So if you've beaten a level and you've still got your boost, use it right at the end to send your penguins hurtling out of the gate next time.
What the hell is wrong with these controls? I brush the key ever so gently, I shoot across the screen. I ram down the key hard, I inch along like an injured turtle. There's something wrong here.
I retract my most recent comment. SPECIAL ENDING. I have never felt more attached to characters in a little computer game, one of thousands on only this site. You are a master storyteller, xdanond. It was a pleasure and an honor to be in your audience.
LOTSA SPOILERS:
The only thing I didn't like about it, and it doesn't say anything against the game but just about life in general which the game does an excellent job of portraying, is how not everyone ends up happy. I still haven't done hard mode and gotten the secret ending so I don't know if something about this changes, but as is, you're forced to end up with all but one of: Tessa dying loveless, Swig loses his planet for good, Johnny never makes peace with himself, Deadeye never sees again (and also dies loveless), a couple endings I didn't find first time round, and Ginny dies soon and totally alone. So it's quite sad, when you think about how even if one person ends up happy, the others are still in pain, even when it's something that could be avoided even without wishing for it. Tessa, for instance, just wants you to talk to her and confess yourself. You don't need a wish for that, but that only happens if you DO wish for it. Which I find sad.
This is what a real RPG should be. The gameplay was very simple, but amusing nonetheless. But the characters, the dialogue, the plot of the story, it was all so touching and it drew the player into that world. It was an utter delight playing this game.
Dammit, I FINALLY got the hard badge for Dream World after like a year of playing, only to become addicted to another fun game which limits my time with energy.
How do you register the badge? I got the required 3 million miles (actually 5 million, but who's counting) but it hasn't registered. Do I refresh, or retry, or go to the front page, or what?
The game should have been finished after you clicked 100 times! :-/
