I don't see this being successful, platformers really do require that you have a slick feel to the character. Try tacking a look at fancy pants. The whole game feels amazing because the characters movements feel so awesome.
This game is just executed so well. I love the fact that you control 3, and only 3 soldiers. It makes it feel more like a special ops mission then a full on war, which isnt really a bad thing. A lot of games in this genre will slowly increase your # of commanded troops until it just becomes time consuming and boring to play.
my suggestions so far:ships that have defensive capabilities or power that goes beyond simply blowing stuff up faster and in different ways.
Give us a way to test out ships before we buy them, maybe like a 20 enemy map where all ships are testable before purchase, but you cant receive any currency or gadgets.
faster progression, i feel like even after beating the game, not all the ships will be available.
I love the fact that each ship brings something new to the table, the game was boring until I unlocked the bullet storm ship though, to be honest this is my second time playing this game, the first one was 2 months ago, you might be better off giving players an easier time unlocking their first really cool ship, so that they get hooked quicker.
5/5, this was a game I truly enjoyed. I couldnt help but feel moved by watching someone who was so underestimated and pushed off as an annoying little runt accomplish so much.
