the idea may be public domain, but the pictures are taken from the Mario set of puzzles (said by the game itself) as well as the look and feel being directly taken from Nintendo's Picross for DS... the idea itself isn't copywritten, but the look and feel of the game IS.
I like this game a lot... IMO the juggernaut is by far the hardest. The different strategies needed to beat EVERY enemy is really interesting.
Only complaint... I beat it with the engineer and it won't give me credit. It says my save file is level 11 and all bosses and enemies are undefined... then i win but no credit.
the overall lack of control is very frustrating. the amount of damage that you do when you hit with your sword ranges from basically nothing to a 1 hit kill.
Other than the control issue, it looks good, the death effects are pretty cool, and the sound/music is nice. For me though, gameplay is basically everything, so this gets a low score.
The loss of level when any of your animals die and the requirement of a randomizer to try to get a useful team make this game more frustrating than fun.
It's a decent make of an already in-use idea, (IE Monster's Den) but has too many obnoxious 'features'. 2/5
Gosh i love games with limited features and advertisements EVERYWHERE.
1 star for this BS. Hopefully Kongregate will stop wasting their bandwith on this nonsense.
on level 9 you cannot use the best gun. It does nothing to any target on the screen. You have to use the default gun.
also the whole concept of new guns as an excuse to make the aiming pisspoor is ridiculous. On level 7 i 'missed' the guy's head as he was walking probably 15 times. i shot the guard in the body only to have nothing happen. This game is short and glitched to high heck.
This is one of the best java games i've played in a long time. Reminds me of Portal or shift, but using time travel to become more complex.
Very very nice!
