Oh also, the only rank 5 guy I've seen is the Archangel Guardian, a so-so melee unit with a short range AoE. My guys were all level 10-12 before I got it
It's easy to beat all the bosses with any mix, ranged and (especially) fire aren't particularly good against them. Range actually kind of sucks against the Beast compared to strong melee
This game has a lot going for it, but the health system is so weird (and for some reason, the tutorial doesn't explain it at all) that I can't really get into it.
Beautiful, incredible art in this game. The game itself is pretty bad, though, and plays like something from the days of the NES. The guy who said you lose points when you die is wrong, though.
The Walled Cave award isn't based on just white walls, it's based on the number of different types of walls you have. And yeah, Spelunker doesn't work at all for me either, tried multiple things to get it.
if you're wondering what the different race starting items are:
ascended chest: +8 prot, spell dam/mana leech/dodge +10%, max mana +20
demon chest: +8 prot, dam/life leech/hit +10%, hp +20
wolf hat: +7 prot, dam/dodge/hit +10%, crit 5%
lizard hat: +7 prot, res/learn/hit/weaken +10%
flayer hat: +7 prot, mdrain/spell dam/res +10%, max mana +20
lizardman looks like the best to me, though none of them is really great (or changes the game much)
tigersm33: the important part to hammering is to make sure you have hammered as much of the edge as possible. Don't worry about the good/great things that pop up, they're mostly useless.
I really, really liked this. My one big complaint is that refueling and (to a lesser extent) repairing becomes a little too easy once you get into space - made it to Mars the third time I got into space, first two times just died from crashing. Still 5/5 though!
I liked this game a lot up until boss rush - the third boss is bugged so that the teleporter doesn't spawn after you kill him. Beat him twice and got stuck both times.
Badass ninja badge awards after beating level 19 instead of level 20. Also there's a bug where the buzzsaws can spawn close enough to the ground that getting hit by one will stunlock you until the ground is lowered enough to get away.. super annoying. Fun game overall, though not as awesome as other nerdook games imo
In case you're wondering: the last meat is unlocked at rank 12. That took me until day 19.. my scores were good but not great, so you could probably get it a few days earlier if you're pro.
EZ mode way to beat the game: get the perks that improve gadgets/decrease gadget penalties, get the barrier and the two protagonist armors, hold down the "s" key. Congrats, now every enemy will heal you faster than they hurt you! The only weapons worth buying before you get the best armor and barrier are the twister and maybe the boomstick. The others you can get later.
Agreed, the health/happiness system is awkward, and we've scrapped it for the sequel.
