the first time i decided to follow the badges instructions instead of wandering for the heck of it.. I couldn't! I found a letter, and couldn't go west cause there was no path, lol
in some ways i prefer it without the ratings.. now i am not forced to join games with rating limit 1000 just so i won't get suicided on by people thinking i am leet just cause i have a higher score.
just beat the game, all gold everything yada yada..
main complaint i had, in one of the maps a bug hit me where one of the guys was facing upside right all the time and was immune to explode damage.. if he had to move he wouldn't shoot, and i couldn't change weapons immediately thereafter.. i could still kill him via sniper rifle and poison, but not with rocket launchers... amazing thing was, he should of been dead by my reckon as he flew off the universe then suddenly reappeared close to where he originated..
5/5 could use some more modes of transportation besides merely teleport, but i like how it's designed, nice take on the worms franchise, plus some issues that have already been mentioned. *multiplayer, hotseat and/or connection. ai teams being ffa instead of you-them*
I found the game to be too easy in many aspects, especially after receiving the nuke, personally....
hmm... i must be a tard, cause i can't figure out how to *start* the first level.. i click play, then click on the gems for level 0 or 1 and nothing happens... hmmm
Soravale, It's a risk clone.. It uses risk rules to determine combat.
IF you want something that uses what you seem to be suggestion, check out warlight.net
mab, there are several different card rules for risk, the most common is escalating card turn ins *4-6-8-10-15-20-etc.* another is a set amount per, generally a cannon, or an X, IE 10.. a last one was one that I've never played by, but it was a set amoutn depending on what you turned in *soldiers = 4, horses = 6 cannons = 8 3 of a kind = 10* which makes little since to me.. since in the board game a soldier is 1, horse is 5, and cannon is 10, so why not make the bonuses worth the same if your going to do it that way? I personally prefer the escalating bonuses, but either of the first two is fairly balanced and can require skillful use, while the latter just enforces luck even more strongly.
NahTano, you only gain pts based on your opponents skill level.. ie 1v1 the 2nd player has 1000 you gain 10 pts.
The problem is those players are *exploiting* the bug that when someone leaves you sometimes win twice, getting *double* score.
And you play the game differently 1v1 then you do ffa, most people don't realize, so the top players take advantage of noobishness. Risk standard rules has special rules for 1v1, because as it's setup it's not fair.
I know of at least 3 top players that farm 1v1, and don't doubt the others do it as well... some of them get mad at me cause i refuse to, i rarely play less then 4 players cause i feel 4 players is the most balanced overall game.
