Glitch: If I save from a character's Attributes screen just before a battle, then load, all my characters get healed 20% as though a battle has gone by. I can just keep clicking save/load repeatedly to heal everybody back to 100% after every battle. (Doing this also screws with the timer, making it say I've been playing for negative hours.) Obviously this is only relevant to medium or hard modes.
It really is a shame this game is so buggy. It would be awesome if not for that. I'm giving it a 4/5 even so, but it would easily be a 5/5 if the bugs were fixed.
I remember playing the original Epic War way back when. But then I hated Epic War 2. But I loved Epic War 3. But I didn't like Epic War 4. Now, with Epic War 5 out, I can confidently say: odd-numbered Epic War games don't suck.
I find it funny that a game entirely based around spelling words has so many misspellings. I'm talking words like "PIRANA" and "PHARAO" that are clearly supposed to be a real word but aren't spelled correctly.
For the final challenge, I see the comments say to go slow and let the cops run ahead of you, but that strategy doesn't work. The chopper will drop bombs on top of you if you sit still, and eventually the cops ahead of you crash themselves and respawn behind you again. You're not at all safe that way.
Of course, I posted that before the game was actually over because I got bored of waiting, but as soon as I picked up the next car part suddenly all the zombies unfroze and mauled me while I was defenseless. Unfair :(
I also had my zombies freeze (wave 24). All the zombies on the screen just became stationary meat bags, the wave bar stopped filling, and I spent the next few minutes watching a guy fix a car. Win...?
Hey wait a minute! If you start from the "Gambling Fever" ending, Shane is alive...but Shane died on the path to that ending (got killed by Sage for sassing him). Shane is a zombie!!!
So...it's a ripoff of Burrito Bison then. The thing that made Burrito Bison good was its originality -- making a ripoff of Burrito Bison is so counterproductive it hurts. Not to mention that the fact that this is a game about murdering a child. Yyyyyyeah.
Love this game, but it's really disappointing that you can't vote for either of the "no wish" endings (the default of the secret one). I feel one of those should be canon over all the character-specific endings.
It looks like there's a good game in there somewhere, but it's just so sloppy that it's hard to play seriously. Dialogue boxes cutting off in the middle of a sentence, popups overlapping each other so you can't read either of them, etc. This needed a lot more polish before it was released, but it certainly has a lot of potential.
BUG: If the dungeon is spread out enough, some parts of it on the very edges can be "out of bounds" so to speak. When I enter these areas, the screen freezes, but I can still control my character (i.e., attack enemies, pick up items, walk out of the affected area) ...I just can't see any of it happening. Also, in my last game, I fought and defeated a boss in this out-of-bounds area (he happened to be standing there) and it started giving me infinite XP, as well as spewing out infinite items (I could hear them clinking to the ground, even though the screen was still frozen). I would have just stood there and let myself become level a billion, but the huge stack of objects that was appearing was lagging my browser heavily, and I was worried it would freeze if I stayed too long, so I jumped into the hole and everything went back to normal. + this if you've encountered the same "out-of-bounds" bug so Void can see it and try to fix it.
