I am assuming that you are taking into account that distance is factored in twice when you calculate a gravitational force? (1/D^2)
I have been playing this for ages. I never seem to get the last starslide... thing, to get to the restaurant, or I miss the ones that I do manage to catch at Pluto. =\
If anyone is still having trouble with the spartan badge, max the laser's ammo and reload.
It kills the Spartans in one hit and has a large blast radius.
Alternatively you can use the quake (either by tower or Quaker gun) and loads of gun men.
One final method (my favorite) is to use 3 rocket towers (rockets maxed) and a fully upgraded grenade launcher. The rockets are fun and keep the Spartans on their backs while you blow up hordes of them with the grenade launcher (hehe).
