The members are *paying* the company for the extra benefits. The free world has very little to do. It's meant to be a starting ground. You learn and game and eventually shell out the cash to get members.
They are in it for the money and that's not going to change.
Not everyone dislikes it because of that, but many do. Many people dislike it for no reason. There's some bandwagon "cool" thing going on with disliking runescape.
Also, most of the immature players reside on the free worlds. To get the full experience you really do need to try members. 5 dollars is peanuts for a month of membership. Most games of this scale require you to buy a 50-100$ game installation kit, plus charge 3-5 times as much per month just to keep the game working.
Yup. Gave the game 10 minutes of game play and quit. God forbid you looked at the knowledge base or checked the map to find an anvil. Oh yeah, I guess those forums with all the helpful people would not have remedied your situation either.
There are ample opportunities to learn what you need to know about the game. It's a matter of *wanting* to find them, there's no issue with their existence.

A lot of people rummage this site to find quick fixes of flash games and are not suited for the game. I understand that and have no problem with that. I just don't like to see people spamming and cursing out this game with no good reason. It's silly. =\
I doubt you will see badges. The game is not linked to Kongregate in any way. I don't see a feasible way to get badges without somehow combining some system of the 2 sites, which I don't think is possible.
The spammers who are trying to get runescape removed from the site are causing all of it. I don't see why the people who like and play the game should suffer because a group of people are being moronic.

That's not a glitch. You swung at bad angles to get that result. There's a comment in game about making sure you are swinging in the right direction when facing a meltie.

Nersop, this game is not bad. The player base is enraged by ignoramuses who bash the game with no reason to do so. We like it and you don't. Fine. People have made accounts, multiple accounts, just to rate the game 1/5. They have cursed on the boards because they dislike the game. Made accounts with names specifically targeting runescape in a negative manor. Made anti runescape organizations to try and get the game off this site.
From what I see, there is a much larger base of people on this site who are being idiotic and hating on the game for NO REASON.

There are now adverts on runescape for kongregate. That means millions of people will see the kongregate name.

I think people think it is cool to hate runescape. Those people are dumb. It's not a noobish online flash that you play for an hour and quit. It's a game that requires time to be good. Just because you are impatient does not mean it's a bad game.
