Me: "This is the final boss? I realize we're supposed to lose to it, but as long as his only attack is knocking out a single party member, I have enough revives and damage output to-" Boss: "I see you picked up a few things. Let's deal with that." Me: "...Oh." Well-played, VasantJ. Well-played. (I COULDA DONE IT TOO IF NOT FOR THAT.)
To clarify: my hint tells me to go to Mr. Guff's, however, when there, there's nothing I can do to obtain the last piece of evidence. I have nothing left in my inventory (I used all the other items already and can make the correct deaduction, just getting 23/24), the gun works on nothing, the hat can't move, I've talked to Mr. Guff about every other clue, and I've attempted to investigate the trashbin only to be told it's private property. I can't find the trick to the last clue.
I'll answer you here: you're in the right place, the only hint you're missing is in that room. Yeah, the trash bin is "private property"... But is it still private if nobody's watching..? :P
Hmm, I seem to be having a problem that none of the comments have mentioned: I'm one clue short (I've gotten the bone, the cheese, the mouse, the leg, the location, etc.), but the clue I'm missing is related to Mr. Guff rather than to the problems with Zombino or reading my deaductions. The only piece of evidence I have unlinked is Acka's dog was chewing on Guff's leg. I'm assuming there's a deaduction which links that and the piece of evidence I'm missing, but I can't find any way of obtaining it.
I was a little bit disappointed to learn how short this was, especially knowing it was meant as a one-shot. I want more. I want a lot more! This game has a huge amount of potential.
Wait.
You're supposed to accomplish this with no kills OR deaths?!?
Gee, and here I thought it was a GOOD thing to kill every single last enemy even if I died horribly on a spike pit for my efforts.
Absolutely beautiful game. The people who complain about this game all seem to be fundamentally missing the point in it, and playing the game as it is meant to be actually IS a challenge. It's got a lovely style, lovely music, a lovely mechanic, and a lovely message. All you have to do is just...listen.
The menu music is so alluring with its flawless loop that I've been listening to it ten minutes and I could listen to it much, much longer than that. It is simply so soothingly beautiful. <3
Okay, so I think I figured out chronology. 8 hours earlier->Game's conclusion->Game's introduction->Medieval Shorts 3. The play was referenced as not yet having started, placing Medieval Shorts 3 as after this game. This means that Bernard has good reason to be seen walking free that game (he was already free rather than tied up), and also, Dregg has good reason to be talking to Eva there (which couldn't have happened before this game anyway). All it requires is for both to survive the predicament we see them in at the beginning, here. We also got to see in this game how they got to where they were in the beginning (if you assume Bernard fell). The only mystery in play is how EVA got there.
I was somewhat disturbed by what happens with the final save.
And also somewhat confused--parts I can figure out. I can figure out the connection between games, and the intricate mythology and lore they have. But the exact unfolding of events here isn't crystal clear. We saw how Dregg got to where he did, but I didn't catch how Eva got there and her attitude once there didn't seem to fit.
As far as I can tell, on the rabbits/farm field, it is possible to be left in an unwinnable, inescapable position, and there's no reset button except an old save. There should probably be a fix for this.
My memory of Ada's speech needs a refresher (time to play the game a second time!), but off the top of my head, what she said reminded me of a dictionary definition for dreg: "the last remaining part". While that is the third meaning, behind the more obvious "the most undesirable part" definition...if this was in any way planned...well-played. That's pure genius.
I love those games. Especially Ghost Trick. I got the idea of Dregg after seeing so many handsome protagonists and teenagers who save the world. I wanted to make a guy who isn't like that and sees the world for what it truly is. Amber was created to be a complete opposite of Dregg, and so far, it all seems to come together nicely. :D
Is it wrong of me of the fact that I liked that I managed to crush your hopes for beating the final boss? XD Thanks for playing
