After playing the cave a few more times, I've got an almost sure-fire victory over the translucent goblin of terror. The witch and mermaid cards push him back to the point where he didn't get to attack me even once. For the record, i used goblin, dwarf, and all 4 ranged cards (not the cannon)
You don't beat the guy. You get your troops around him to the castle. More than that I can't help with, as I got lucky with my victory. I just hope that before asking us you tried it 3 or more times.
......you've got to be kidding me. Final boss, last of the "dark me"s is one hit away, and he finishes me off. Sucks right? Not as bad as the fact that I have to restart the entire game because of it. I disliked this game to begin with, but WOW is that crappy.
for Doug, I had roughly that same problem my first game. Chose the green hero, got my 10 cards, but nothing I did beat the last castle and the (I assume Earth) titan that guards it. After reading the walkthrough it gives you in game, I chose the red hero and won last castle easy. Also, each hero gets a different 10 cards, most overlapping. You'll have to play all 6 heroes to get every card, and each of the caves for the last 5.
I managed to avoid most of the bugs my first time through, but two things bother me. While ranking up through the Enforcers, I somehow skipped over Commander and missed the achievement for it. Also, one of the achievements says to take 100 cities, but there aren't that many in the game to take.
nowhere that i can see are the names of each enemy given. I assume NC+ is the dark red one, but what's the giga cell? Also, yes, this game is based on Amorphous. He calls the Legions nests in some of the achievements. But that in no way makes this a good or bad game. Don't compare it, just play it.

two changes I'd like to suggest.
2) Start in Madagascar. If you do not get there restart.
4) Buy 1-1-1-4 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures).
