another small bug. If you get the ability to reset your cooldowns, and add the item that does the same thing. Your 2 cooldown reset abilities work on each other. Add to that your highest hitting ability and its gg.
It took me a while to figure it out, but it turns out to be a lot of fun. Couple things you might consider: Possibly a campaign mode you can make a light and dark side possibly. One bug I found is that my fire totem as necro doesn't always take effect against npc heroes right away.
I Guess I have to agree, I am enjoying the game and the amount of flexibility in choosing classes and gear and repeating levels. For those who want to keep playing, why not make repeatable challenges and bonus levels that reward you energy. So in an hour or so of bonus levels you would refill your energy and can start again.
I ran into a bug where I am purchasing a jacket for 2k regular cash. The game reset twice, removed some of my money and 2 of my special cash without giving me the jacket which didn't cost any special cash.
For new players, I suggest working your way up to repeating insanity jungle many times, without killing the boss, but repeating the quests. Doing this I didn't haven't had to wait for energy yet and I'm lvl 8. Each time you lvl your hp/energy restores. 2 machine guns is a safe build to use. I use 1 with poison rankII 1 with and incendiary rankII (found on boss). Lastly, save up grenades from dropped off experimental chickens to help fight bosses.
There was one point in the game around chapter 2 where I grinded all the way until the last available gun (kill things until you die without buying life to save money). After that it was smooth sailing. I enjoyed it and I ended up using the mini gun with +2 all, which I think helped since I use a mouse pad. The cover mechanic really came in handy on the last level and the puzzle missions in between were like games in themselves. Finished and thanks for the game.
It took me a while to get in the groove and it was frustrating at the beginning. Some of the later hero choices made it much more managable and fun to create teams. The treant is by far my favorite team member, just watch out for AoEs hitting weak members next to him or he takes a lot of damage for them.
I wouldn't even mind if you took basic hit % out of the game, caused the level of attack you use cost more mp, and make dex effect crit and/or bleed damage or something. Hit % in games frustrates the hell out of me. Personal opinion.
Also would be great if shield block was changed where it had a % chance to absorb a set amount of damage per turn depending on the level of the shield. most annoying ability to fight against 50+ chance block on all enemies.
Couple things I wouldn't mind is the skill reset cost would go back down 1000 gold every 10 min or so like the shop timers so there is a little more freedom to experiment. Would be cool if you could spend gold depending on the level of the city to reset its stock. Maybe would be cool to pay blacksmith to refine your gear at increasing amounts each time for better stats on specific items.
I'm not Justin's girlfriend yet. Not 'til I get my surgery done tomorrow anyway, eh? Eh? Who's with me? (Gets so many negative votes, Kongregate's servers implode.)
I really liked the game. Was looking for something like this. I wouldn't mind if you made the story even darker and involved. I enjoyed what humor your characters had without the flash game parody humor everywhere (which I don't mind but gets kinda old after a while). But ya, the story is what I would like to see more fully developed. Reminds me kinda of Inuyasha atm.
One way to get up artistry, is when you're strong enough is do the 3rd tier soul drain defense quest over and over. It is a good way to gain money and materials quickly. It gives 10 fangs per round, and you can experimentally fail crafting one fang at a time to boost your artistry.
I was frustrated at first with the defense missions because my hit percentage was so low. So I did one of the beginning dungeons a couple times and used weak attack all the way through to level my hit percentage and I was fine from there on. Lots of fun. One thing I thought could help is if when you buy increased bag space, the price of the higher tier bag space could drop, so you don't have to save all your gold for the last one at the beginning, or waste a lot of money doing it incrementally.
In order to defeat doom frog as a sentinel, get to lvl 33 for kidney shot. Rotation is kidney shot, basic melee attack x2, sucker punch, basic melee attack x2. Repeat. That keeps the toad locked down, because its doom attack happens to be vulnerable to silence.
