Interface for changing commands becoming disabled during combat but enabled between combats is pretty annoying - you can make some changes then the disabling kicks in and actively undoes all your changes. Seems like the save/cancel thing should make it so you can change those things during combat but only *save* the changes between levels, or just let me change settings at any time!

Like Squidmaster666 said, I didn't ever understand how the questions related to the maze. The buttons didn't seem to have numbers on them or anything, for the "blue flowers" question, and there were certainly more than 3 blue flowers (or possibly I'm not recognizing what shape is supposed to be a flower, or what constraints make "the town"). Trial and error takes max 9 tries, likely 5 tries at ~8 seconds each, where finding the answers to the questions *even if I could* map those answers to the buttons would have taken way longer. Even just finding the questions probably takes longer! Kind of undermines the premise of the puzzle to make it so much easier to brute-force than solve.

As others have said, the weapon/armor upgrades are so weak except for the top one that it's just not worth upgrading incrementally. If you could sell back the previous item at a 20% discount or something (which you could hint by presenting a trade-in value for your starting equipment) then the incremental upgrade path would seem less stupid. And as someone else said, it's weird that bullets go through the landscape items, especially when you get to the dog-creatures that appear to be supposed to be an 'advanced' enemy, but they're trivially easy because you can just stand behind a piece of landscape and stab them through it, their charge attacks are rendered useless. Makes for a very weird progression. Also the medium green slimes being more dangerous than two of the bosses!

The "survive for X minutes" levels would be better if they were all "survive for 1 minute" but increasingly difficult. If you can consistently take zero damage for 1 minute, you can take zero damage for X minutes, it just takes longer and is increasingly boring.

Fun surprising effect, if you get to the pumpqueen with a bat next to you, it says you won and then goes back to the start of the level (doesn't count as having won).

Having hints enabled by default seems a bit weird when you give a star for having them disabled. It's very strange, coming to the game new, to solve a level perfectly and not get one of the two stars. Usually hints are a thing you ask for, not a thing that is inflicted on you without you even noticing!

I had to literally just wait 5 minutes, set to max speed, for my last 2 achievements, because "travel whatever distance" isn't something my input would help with, and the last points achievement would be reached with the reward from the distance achievement.

Is a planter expected to disappear (maybe just in the final boss battle?) - I used it three or four times, then when I went to remove it from my equipment for the final boss battle and replace with something else, it was already disappeared, to my surprise.

I reached the level of ending#2 without realizing you can 'ghost' from yourself to your shadow - until then I thought you could only do it from a possessed thing to your shadow. Which is to say, the only time you have to do that is on that level.

Ah, I did level 15 without being aware of the camera moving control, by just dragging boxes systematically (just learned the other way from the comments). Definitely the worst level without some sort of intro to the fact that there's another way to do it.

Enjoyed it a lot. Suggestion for another key-binding option, just offer the ability to bind keys to "fire ice arrow", "fire fire arrow" etc. rather than making us mess with switching between modes. Given there are only three non-standard arrows and you bound two keys to change weapon, it would only be *one* more key to have direct fire keys (and I never bought the cursed arrow power because it seemed likely I'd fire them accidentally and kill myself with the mode-switching method, so for my play style, zero more keys!)

The cursed arrow won't shot if you have low hp, you can fire it safely. Thanks for the feedback though.

I wish one of these people with the highly upvoted positive comments about how it gets good and does interesting things had said *when*. About half an hour in and nothing notable yet. That's a pretty big wall to put before your alleged interesting content!

If you're here for the badges, don't bother with the second one, it takes a looong time. If you *are* going to bother with it, my suggestion is get as many stars as you can using only the most basic units (infantry + stormtroopers + the hero) with no equipment, then for stars 25-40 just burn through the higher level units that in normal play you would not be able to replace until like 8 months or hundreds of dollars later - it costs 2 days of resource-collection to level up just one thing, and you'd have to level things up many times to get to being able to buy the decent units, then I assume (I didn't grind that far) that each individual decent unit also costs another couple days worth of resources. The progress curve is insanely slow if you don't inject real money into it. (Or maybe I was just doing it wrong, in which case the game needed a bit more tutorial on how to make useful progress!)

I enjoyed the moment when I learned it was a vasantj game - when they hadn't quite said post office yet, but had hinted at it enough to see that that was where it was going. It was a little disappointing that it went on to fully say it rather than leaving it implied as a more subtle connection.

This was pretty good. But a suggestion for future projects, try not to allocate any memory during the core gameplay if you're doing a timing-critical game, just re-use pre-allocated things - on the last level I had multiple deaths to what I think was "garbage collector decided to run at this moment" stutter that made getting the keystroke timing right impossible at a critical moment. (Might not have been your fault though, like maybe rather than garbage collection it was Kongregate decided that was the perfect moment to update the banner ad or something like that.)

Thanks! You're probably right, wish I knew about that sooner. In fact most visual fxs are istances created on-the-go, instead of pre allocated objects. Fortunately there aren't too many of them, and except those, every other object is pre-allocated. Because of the way I've organized the game's code I would have to change big part of it to change the way visual fxs works, and -as for now- the game consists in almost 6000 lines of javascript(maps excluded) which makes it pretty hard to make little changes... I've already practiced on the matter and hopefully I won't fail again to save as much memory as possible for my next game

I enjoyed it, but definitely enjoyed the first one more. First one had more of a puzzle element to it, this one was mostly just timing (with the small exception of "one respawn", in which I appreciated the subtle "instruction"!)

I enjoyed that it felt like I was cheating every time I lost a health but didn't die, because the game would be completely beatable without ever losing a health.
