you probably wont find out just how mind bending this game can be until you've played an intense game where you make a well played comeback. there's also some joy in losing a good match to some tricky opponent manuvers. i also like the matches where i get the best of my enemy at every turn and flatten him >:)
It may not be all its cracked up to be at first, duffman. i didnt think much of it either at first glance. it took some getting used to in order to pick apart some of the finer points of the game before i could enjoy it more. take some more time to learn it a bit and dont get discouraged, it really is a good game. still needs work, but you cant really please everyone on everything about this game or any game for that matter.
The time it takes to enable the hits fleeing opponents buff is the turn they switch out to a fresh hp decked guy. She's a great closer w/ her current Spectral Choke. Lose the Blood Burn or w/e it is altogether and give her a long range move that is the reverse of ninja-port and decrease the damage on spectral choke so it takes 2 moves to get the current damage of the current spectral choke as it is. Also, aside from ninja-port and teleport, i'd like to see more moves that change range whether they deal dmg or not.
This is so messed up. If i get anything less than 4+ 90+% misses in one game, its a miracle! I consistently get back to back 95% hit rate misses, no other mods for dodge or miss applied, all the freeking time. There's something wrong :( If it was only me it was happening to, i'd chalk it up as bad luck, but i've watched it happen to all my opponents and others have spoken up about it as well. I'm not trying to say "fix it nao!" or anything, just wondering if anyone is taking a look at it. thanks
Limpy, if re-release cards werent available, a lot ppl probably wouldnt have any cards :( especially people new to Kong. Also, if only a select few had all the cards, it would be those select few winning more often. More cards = able to form better decks = able to increase odds of winning. I dont know how new to playing Kongai you are, but they've already discussed the release of new sets of cards and characters.
i wouldnt want people observing my matches thanks. when the game begins, you're opponents decked chars are question marks for a reason. also, everyone has a play style. sure, we'd prolly play enough before hand for us to learn each other's habits but, i'd like to keep as much to myself as possible. with regards to items / abilities not doing as they say, they've been nerfed or changed. look in the past comments to find the web address of sirlin's page that shows what changes are in effect and which are pending.
Ah, minus Helene's Enchant Weapon and moves like that shouldnt trigger the leafy trap. I figure you guys knew what i meant, but i know someone will be anal, so anyway ... :(
As far as im concerned, if its a physical combat move, it should trigger leafy trap. All Ashi and Helene's moves, all but Mistress' Command for Zina, and other similar things. Doesnt matter if its light or dark attribute, it ain't magic its a body moving and therefore tripping a trap via physical motion. But nobody really cares about this kinda stuff anyway so why do i bother?
yeah, Abdu that's probably just the crappy AI. and im not quite sure what grinchy is getting at but, i'd like to see a lower timer count. 30 seconds instead of 60 would pwn. Or is it 30 already and im just impatient?
Changes were made to balance the effects of cards but, the artwork has not yet been changed to reflect the new effects. I dont remember the webadress, if someone could fill that in it'd be great, but on david sirlin's website is an up to date listing of card balance changes with some still pending.
For those who dont have many cards, you're not alone. Simply advertise to play random 3 or 5 card matches. I'm always up for that as are many others. If you say cards dont make a difference, then you shouldnt mind playing random cards anyway, so go for it.
Omnicient Chaos, you're full of it. Yes, its still possible to use 10 cards or random cards and have a chance at beating those w/ 40+ cards available to them, but the fact remains, some cards are better than others and those w/ more options can form better and more strategies and therefore increase their odds of winning more often.
Mis-labeled items suck. Try making things a little clearer in that dept. Money penalty for staying low lvl too long? Skarue that! ok artwork and interface, but i just dont like it. it didnt feel fun to play.
With regards to picking solid cards .... we'll simply need to point out which ones to pick and make good suggestions in the comments section for the newbs. We can leave suggestions for cards to pick and why and then let people make choices based on that. Doing that will also provide some insight on what items/chars people deem most valuable and that info can be used towards balancing the game further.
