Jesus H. Christ, the MOUSE LAG. I think it might have to do with the stupid fuzzy layer over the graphics, since the other two games didn't have that, and they run just fine. I still love it and all, but I just can't play it like this, which really makes me sad. Chrome 15 running Windows 7, here.
Might I recommend a quality toggle, like in your previous games? That, and being able to see weapon strength (which I know you said would be too difficult for you to do), are the only things I'd recommend adding; otherwise, yet more entertaining work, Nerdook. Will doubtlessly rate highly after I play a bit more into the game.
It takes a lot for me to seriously go, “wtf is happening here, oh my God the carnage is amazingly horrific, Jesus Christ should I be playing this late at night;” this game achieved that. Also, “A Christmas tale,” sure. Cut forward to the little kids who like milder zombie stories picking this up by accident. Night-night! Don't let T.T.T. MAUL YOUR FLESH IN YOUR SLEEP.
OK, scratch that—my score went through even though I just chose to exit, but it took about a minute to creep its way past 400 000. Ah, yay, that means I have literally no complaints for this game! Awesome work!
The music and the atmosphere are all working you up for some Alice is Dead-esque shift from cuteness into pure terror, but it never comes. Then again, I'm accustomed to games taking cute things and making them horrible, so maybe I'm being typical. Either way, wonderful game, and amazing music. I would love to see a continuation!
So with the blue-haired girl, he lets her be happy with someone else and ends up alone. With the pink-haired girl, she's separated (he died? They divorced?) from their mutual childhood friend and pregnant, but they're happy anyway. With the blond-haired girl, he has to repress his feelings for the pink-haired girl, and she's portrayed as being of expensive tastes (not necessarily a bad thing). Is it me reading too much into clues, or is this game a lot less bright and cheery than it seems?
The difficulty between individual stages is pretty intense, but not at all impossible to deal with. The aiming system is creative, and definitely has its uses (e.g. aiming ahead of where an enemy unit is going so your shot hits from far away) without being an impediment to hitting targets. My only complaint is that the writing isn't too great; it seems like it was given the least attention of all the game's components.
An absolutely wonderful game. The entirety of it, from the way the symbols illuminate the dark background, to the way everything flows in time with the music—I'm in love with this game.
Fun game, here. By the way, the BBPD database password and electronic lock code change every time; be aware of that. Try entering vowels first for the former, and using the glowing keys for the latter.
This game makes me so nostalgic for, like, PC games from 2000 with 3D graphics flattened into 2D. And—oh my goodness, I didn't even have to turn down the quality and there's not even any lag unless a ton of sprites are on screen! YOU ARE GOD. I LOVE YOU.
Hope you enjoy it, sorry for the wait :)
