Here's my critique on points to make better. Overall the game is good, but some things need fixing. Fruit Event is extremely difficult, especially with a bug that makes you autofail for no apparent reason at some point in the course. It gets worse as sometimes it fails you right off the bat, nothing you can do about it. Next point, nitrous : You shouldn't lose a all your progress on a can of nitrous when you use one that's already full. That's really annoying. Finally, level 15 is MUCH, MUCH harder than level 16. I did it exactly 10 times with the buggy, the bike and the F3 and never got better than 2nd, using a total of 9 cans of nitrous and not hitting the sides. I managed to get the lead ONCE, but he caught up to me and beat me at the end...Need to look into that level's design or AI's speed for that level alone.
Good game, maybe add some more fun stuff you can buy.
Final Gun (Shark) is MUCH less useful than the Fishbone. The final level is probably possible, but after 5 tries with everything maxed out, I gave up, those blue birds are horrible.
And one last thought : I didn't beat the last level very well. my loadout was 8x +25% weapon damage modules, 4x +60 shield, 7x Repair and the rest was all triple cannons spread out evenly through the ship. I stayed as far to one side of the screen as possible, this was I was only getting half the enemies I would normally encounter.
It is a REALLY tough level.
Good game. Final level definitely needs a little nerfing. I did end up beating it, but not without wasting over an hour trying out different combos. Either I wasn't dealing enough damage to keep the enemies off me, either I was dealing too much damage and not enough defense.
Triple Missiles : Awesome, unless the first missile kills the target, if three missile bays launched at the target, the first missile destroys it, the other 8 missiles are completely wasted, leaving you vulnerable. Do you see what the problem is here? You're much better off buying guns because you have MUCH MUCH MUCH less wasted firepower and better reload.
Another thought, New Game + or the ability to replay levels you've already beaten. It would add to the fun.
Great fun game, one bug.
When hiring/firing assistants, the price keeps going up regardless of how many you have. Hire 3 tossers, fire 2, the price should be based on the amount you have, not the amount you've ever bought. Also, the money you spent on upgrading them should be returned, as I fired a maxed out collector to get a tosser, and got nothing back.
Good game, but for the final 2 fights, you are definitely at a disadvantage. The final boss has 900hp, and with maxed out attack, you're dealing 15-20 damage with a good attack if he isn't defending. This will take forever to take down, but possible. What makes it impossible is that he's hitting you for 40-60 every time, by the time you think you've made a dent in his hp, he heals for +100hp, and you have 1/2 health left, and he's full health once again. Regardless of the mutation arrangements I've tried, I only once got him to 1/2 health, and that was because I got 2 special attacks, he then healed with a critical and was back to 700 health.
If you could upgrade your mutant to at least be on the same playing field as the boss it's be great, but he has maxed EVERYTHING, and you, well, you suck.
