Wow, this games lags worse than any other I've played on this site. I've had late-level boards on Bloons Tower Defense 3 that didn't slow down like this one does.
This *must* be the next challenge game! Play-wise, just an average TD. But very creative, both sides get towers/powers that take the piss out of their reputations-- clearly an equal-opportunity insulter! 5/5
OK, I took one more stab at it and managed the last badge. So this isn't just sour grapes :-). But seriously... another nit: nothing short of machine gun fire behind you would get infantry to charge into gas. Trust me. They would be smart-enough to wait for it to dissipate.
Yeah, after a few more tries I really have to knock it down some points. Apparently "war isn't always fair" is code for "the enemy has unlimited artillery from the start". Add to that super-tanks that eat two anti-tank barrages and keep going... got the card, don't need to keep playing.
Up until level 9, I was ready to give this a 5/5. I study a lot of military history, and a lot of this is really well-done. But like several others here, I was 95% across the field, leading with a tank no less, when I suddenly lost due to "depleted morale". And since that first try, every other try has had me facing crack-shot artillery who knock out my tanks before they get even 1/3 across the field. Tsk tsk.
Stupid, monotonous, sorely in need of a mute control. And even after suffering through it, didn't get any of the badges. This really convinces me that people must be paying K for the "honor" of having badges/being featured.
I like this game, I do... I've gotten the first three badges and the card. But the first 8-10 levels are so freakin' S-L-O-W... and you can't save progress? Not sure if I care about that last badge enough to keep spending the first 10-15min of every game doing the exact same things as I did the previous time...
Some sort of (possibly optional) grid-overlay would be nice, as I sometimes click on the wrong piece because the boundaries aren't clear.
And to the countless people complaining about the need to mute: Try reading the f-ing title screen. It's *right there*.
Retracting an earlier statement-- it didn't give me the card early (and it doesn't give badges early). The number in the upper-right is the last level completed, not the currently level. Weird, but there it is. Note that your first level reads "0". Also, you can mute with "m" (thank goodness), and arrow keys will move forward and backward over levels you've already solved, so it does save your progress.
