@DanielF193: If you go to Ubisoft, the manufacturer of this game, you MIGHT be able to find Anno 1404 which is the full version of this game. Though there are some differences from this online version (no rubies, and no visiting other players as it's not an MMO game, but you do have the ability to play against other computer players and that can get tough). If you can't find it, try contacting Ubisoft Support. I bought the hard copy of the game YEARS ago under the American title, "Dawn of Discovery" and because it was so long ago, even though the game is still good, the registration code is no longer accepted, so I contacted Ubisoft for assistance and they were able to give me the Digital Download version in its place after I proved I owned the game. Now, they won't give you the game for free, but since it's still available for download, maybe they'll let you buy it. It's worth a shot. Good luck.
So that's just great. One of the few GREAT games left on Kong and it's getting yanked. Unreal. Why is it so hard to find good games to play that aren't shoot 'em ups, zombie games, or match 3/hidden object games!? This just SUCKS.
As someone who has been playing Dawn of Discovery for YEARS, having to go through the tutorial with no way to exit out of it so I can just play the game as I'm used to is EXTREMELY frustrating!!! I love the game, but the slowness and inflexibility of the tutorial is just maddening!
WTF!? The combo maneuver can only be used ONCE!? What's the point of "training" for it? So stupid! Much of this game is stupid. You can't use the arrows to move, regen takes FOREVER. You can't move two feet without running into a monster (usually too powerful to beat) which you have to fight, and if you click "run" when you click "yes" for confirmation, nothing happens and the monster attacks. So many problems with this game!
I really enjoyed this and I wasn't sure I was going to. It's childLIKE, but not childISH. Very well done! If there are any more stories/games like this, I look forward to them!
"Pumpkin thinks you might be screwed on this one." I just started cracking up! Btw, the door puzzle took me over an HOUR to figure out! YUCK! Still love this game though. The sarcasm all over the place is what keeps me going.
Filter comments to "Oldest," Find Hannahbailey's comment about halfway down the page and make sure you "like" it so that it can get bumped up to the "Best" category of comments. Her comment helped me figure out the first puzzle. I already knew how to make the lines move, but I couldn't make them line up properly to move past it without her comment.
Does the game ever end? I stepped into the light and rode it up, but got stopped under the cliff island where words appear saying, "Hold UP to ride home." Um... HOW!? I can't get past the cliff island!
*sigh* I give up. I can't get across the chasm to get the cloth. I keep trying to click on the rope but it says I need something to weight it down, so I click on the leftover axe blade but then I'm told I'm being too violent. I've been EVERYWHERE you can walk to and there is NOTHING clickable ANYWHERE to find to tie the rope to. This is just stupid.
In addition to what Burnydroid says about the Reflecting Pools yielding mushrooms, you only get two at a time, and you get 2 pearls as well, but make sure you send Mina as the leader with the Butterfly Pendant (you have to craft this) to ensure you get the mushrooms. You will be unlikely to get mushrooms if you don't use Mina as your leader on this quest.
"Laundry Facilities were donated by Scientologists." Um, I don't think the developer knows what a Scientologist is. They have NOTHING to do with Science...
There seems to be a bug with the popups when they tell you that you've gained "+1" gold. It never adds the "+1." My gold amount has remained the same even though I should now be "+5."
