I have had 5 tries and 4 breaks at 90 percent. While technically possible I think Stencyl or whatever was used to make this, is whacked in the head for producing random numbers.
This game has a serious problem. It want's to be an idle game. It moves at the speed of an idle game. I've seen the developer comment that "progress has been slowed down" for various sections. I assume in order to be a decent idle game. BUT it requires way too much baby sitting to BE an idle game.
So. There is a lot in the tutorial. And, assuming you don't have a photographic memory, some bits can get lost. I know it mentioned a second way to get diamonds. But I can't remember and I can't find it. Perhaps a way to turn back to previous pages in the tutorial would be a useful addition. Please.
So. A "Kred" is about a dime, plus or minus the volume bonus. "Amber" is a little less than a "Kred. Let's call it, on average 8c. (I don't have a "cents" symbol on my KB. *shrug*) So. 2x stats for 1 battle is 12 "Amber" or approximately 96c. Close to a dollar for a boost that will last about 11 seconds. 50 "Amber" gets you the gold for an abdication without restarting. By my calculations that's approx $4. Kinda steep for a 1 shot ANYTHING on a Kongregate Pseudo-Idle game. That's 80% of what I paid for the premium version of Gemcraft Labyrinth. (A permanent upgrade BTW.) I wonder if the dev is making any money because these prices seem way out of whack for what you get. Even by "AAA" micro-transaction standards.
I like the idea. But this has a LOT of issues. Not the least of which is it takes WAY to bloody long to get enough gold or stone to buy purchasing this stuff with no clue as to what it does till well after you purchase it.
@Hybban: Bars above the second list a "DMG" which usually refers to damage. This obviously isn't a direct "Damage per second" deal since after the third tier you'd be gong through enemies very quickly. But it is, apparently, an over time thing. I'd thought for a while it was "do damage each time you first activate this bar" system. But I'm watching HP slowly tick downward right now without touching anything so it's a time deal of some sort. Exactly what I'm not sure. Clues and observations, not actual answers. Sorry. Hope it helps.
I've never understood the point of putting a score on a puzzle game. (Actual puzzles. Not match three or Tetris etc.) I even less understand the point of it being based on a timer. Esp if resetting the puzzle resets the timer.
Okay folks. Helpful hint for all those "family oriented" types out there. Find another acronym or short hand way of saying "Closed Beta Test." Your customers might not want to find out that their kids know a more common usage for those initials.
Okay. It doersn't completely kill FireFox's tab muter function. There's a second way to activate in a right MB menu. It's just hides the easy to use tab icon. So I still have my tunes.
