Of course, Peter, the problem is getting all that damage, not all decks focus on huge amounts of direct damage. An even better strategy is to use a lot of low power creatures to suck up the quantums; a 3/3 horned frog takes away one quantum, but three 1/1 photons take away three.
It'd be the same with any hand, wise. I could set up a Forest Spirit with blessing and a few freezes to counter attackers (and the pillars to supply this) but often I can't. Being able to set up the strategy from the first turn would make the game a bit more fair.
What I'm saying is that, like most card games, this games relies mainly on luck. With a bad draw (and poor draws on consecutive turns) even a level one has a chance of beating you. You could put together the most incredible deck ever, with perfect synergy and balance, but poor draws could cause you to lose. It's a common flaw of most card games that I just wanted to point out.
The only thing this game is missing is the ability to choose the hand you start with. Too many times my opening draw has left me with all pillars or no pillars, and I'm forced to wait three or more turns while the CPU sets up their deck with seemingly unfair ease. Being able to choose the hand you start with would give you a head start with strategy, leaving only the draw of a card to chance.
If this game had a little bit more variety attack-wise, I'd rate it a five. As it stands, there are only four moves to attack with, only two of which can destroy buildings... 3/5.
It seems this is the marrige of two incompatible ideas: Mouse based weaponry combined with enemy numbers comparable to classic shooter games. While those numbers work in a game where your shots are constant and you can avoid incoming fire, it doesn't fly in a game where effective shots must recharge and enemies all converge on a stationary player. The Max Power bomb helps, but doesn't do enough when the levels are as long as they are. Nice presentation, interesting idea, but the execution needs a bit of tune-up.
This game is so horribly unbalanced in the CPU's favor, it's not even funny. I struggle to get anything better than 300 points in a round, while the CPU almost constantly gets free rolls and high-scoring throws. I'm giving this a *very generous* score of 1/5.
It would really be free speech if you actually used intelligent debate instead of making a crappy ripoff of YHTBTR and making you take a dump all over a prominent figure. This is just plain ridiculous.
Well, Kaeden, depending on your CPU, F11 brings up a full screen mode for those kind of larger-screened games. I'm not sure if it works outside of Laptops, but you can get rid of the toolbars easily that way (and, yes, press it again to bring them back).
So, uh, how did this benefit anyone at all? I can't see a person getting pleasure from deceiving people in a section that is full of spamming n00bs. You really fit right in with the rest, honestly.
I wouldn't call it a problem that so much of the game consists of the level editor. The fact is, the level editor is so unrestrictive that you can create basically anything you imagine (providing you have the skills to draw it, of course). A finished creation certainly is something to be impressed at.
Meteor Meltdown is actually really easy (Even on Insane) if you know how to use the boulders to increase your momentum like a slingshot. Uphill Battle is actually the hardest I've encountered on Insane.
