Kongregate-wide reset? If this means 'start from nothing again and spend hours checking in every minute to see if any upgrades can be bought', I'm never playing this again.
I am sad that it seems to be impossible to beat the unleash-the-black-ships level WITHOUT letting them out. I decided to go back and redo it--conquered the whole thing WITHOUT touching the superweapon or prison or whatever it is.
4/5 because it's a letdown that you don't get a special ending for that. :p
So this is a game where getting hurt is essentially random, your only in-game upgrade makes you get hit more, and some of the grindfest upgrades make your enemies stronger. What.
Inferior grindfest version of Frantic Frigates, AND it has an anticlimactic end (that boss is far too easy). The music plain sucks, and the graphics are forgettable. 2/5.
3/5. Was 4/5 until I came across the special ability of the red guys--all their planets become neutral after taking them? So by attacking them, you throw away ships; by attacking neutral planets, they get to build up. Was only 4/5 because I have no desire to buy an apple product just to play this game properly. :|
Two achievements seem unnecessarily troublesome: 'travel 1000 km' and 'five/ten minutes in the high speed zone'. Why? Because instead of being cumulative, it seems you need to do them IN ONE GO. With no distance counter anywhere, and the high speed zone being very narrow and one slip-up kicking you out of it...
If you increase your air brakes you can kind of control where you're going to land ( "s" or "down arrow" ). Plus there are more sleds you can buy that have better armor that will prevent some of the damage.
So... is wiping out half the enemy in one attack (Windslash) and immediately dying a bug or not? And does it have something to do with the Vampiric rune? :O
The game is even more luck based than most chain reaction games, your upgrades cost huge amounts and don't really help with the 'get a reaction going' thing, the 'you shoot for free' is pretty worthless most of the time (if things are going off, who wants to throw a x2 combo into there?), and the game STARTS DELETING BULLETS if there's too many on the screen. When they're less than halfway across. In a game where the best success is filling the screen with bullets. :|
Hopefully your day isn't ruined. ;)
