Really enjoyed the music and art design (my favorite scene was the one where you have to drop down the huge empty pit with the camera zoomed way out--that did a lot to show just how lonely the main character must feel). The ending kinda fell flat, though; I wanted to know more than just a bare sketch of what happened. (I also could've done without the HEY GUYS THIS GAME IS KINDA LIKE METROID LOL during my mad dash to the exit.) Still, I definitely had fun with this game.
Not a hard game at all, and the concept is great (and adorable!), but the little experimentation you need to do is discouraged by the lives system, which really makes no sense. Luckily the player has unlimited retries in the sequel.
The game gets tedious after a while, so I probably won't play now that I have the hard badge, but the fact remains that I sat here for four hours straight playing, so I obviously enjoyed this quite a bit. A couple of jade letters and the ability to think of words like "heuristically" and others of similar length will get you up to level 40 no problem.
I don't advise playing this if you're hungry and happen to like sushi. :3 Really cool game. Loved the art style and music, and the videos were cute and entertaining.
The abruptness of one character's decision near the end of the game was unsatisfying, as others have said, and I would have liked to see some more/any characterization worked in for Zach (but maybe that will happen in future chapters). Aside from these small points, I greatly enjoyed this and am looking forward to Chapter 3.
I love the idea of a factory creating these adorable little balls individually for each customer. The game was fun - some puzzles took a few moments of thought, but nothing was so challenging as to feel like it was necessary to resort to trial and error (beyond that needed to figure out what each tool does). Plus, you know, badges. Those are always good.
Okay, so normally I try to be calm and rational when posting comments. But OH MY GOD, I JUST DOVE OFF THE ROOF AND BODY SLAMMED A FREAKIN' WEREWOLF INTO THE HOOD OF A CAR. Best thing I've done all day.
Interesting story, although the script is wooden and the lines are badly delivered in places. I also think it's needlessly heavy-handed to have Seth's misanthropic bible-thumping AND the "there's no happy ending" text at the end: one, the latter is pretty obvious already, and two, it doesn't help your own message when a character in the game delivers it in the most antagonistic way possible. (Granted, it's going to be difficult to discuss the end times on a Flash game site, but still.) Also not a fan of the sometimes ridiculous puzzles (seriously, setting the cat on fire?) or the pixel hunting, but at least there was a walkthrough for that. The minigames were annoying, although I can understand a degree of awkwardness for the axe and shotgun games, as neither Ira nor Tark had any obvious combat training. In the end, despite my wall of text, I did enjoy this - there's a lot of room for improvement, though.
