For all those who are moaning. You can place towers over the top of existing ones. Still hard, but not impossible. The first waves are the hardest - have to move fast placing the first tower. Once you have all available spots covered, move straight on to the third tower filling in all the longer range spots. Then move on to the last tower filling in back over the first lot. I'm on the third level now and getting a bit bored - nothing new.
Good idea but balance problems: Gather upgrade is so little in comparision to the random effect of the guy walking around. Your worker can die, theirs can't. Also there is not strategy as to which units to send.
What I really like about this game is that not only does it pay homage to evolutionary concepts it actually demonstrates them: If you take a group of bots and attack something, and keep reproducing from the attackers that are surviving, then the bots tend towards heavy armour - because they are the ones who survive long enough for you to click on them. Superb.
Best strategy is to go Destroyer route; max out rattlesnake(venom) and rocket, then dynamite.
use barricades to corral the fingers. The rockets splash and venom go through barricades so you can destroy most before they get anywhere near you.
I didn't find level six that hard. Just go straight for knights and monks. Only power up is the olive branch. Ignore everything else and attack as quickly as possible.
Beautiful mood and excellent story telling. Game engine could do with a few bugs ironing out. For some reason I couldn't make the lake potion without first making the amulet potion. I don't understand why and it confused me for a while - and not in a good way. Can't leave town without paying for the wheel which needs the story, so it is not necessary to have to do it that way around.
Great concept, but flawed. Campaign is too easy and too short. Save game does not work (when loading back I just get a black screen.)
On the hard levels the strategy is mostly about not running out of ammo.
For all those moaning. This is not protector. The strategy is different, and not all that hard. It's a good little game. I prefer it. Although I agree that more than one crop should be allowed at a time.
A good td 4/5 (but marked 5 because I think it is underrated).Suggestions: Start video recording after buildup so that first wave can be unleashed at will. First/last/strongest/weakest targeting - really annoying when something gets past bunch of strong towers because they are focusing on something else. Highlight your current highest score on a map. A greater range of towers would be good with a more sophisticated upgrade system.
For those struggling on the last couple of levels. You need to buy and apply the special upgrades (bottom left on upgrade screen) Make sure they are all applied to units in the field. Also have base at maximum for the special upgrades.
Boring game despite the polish. Just a click fest.
If anyone is wondering there are 30 levels. AzJgard quit with just the boss level to go. Tip: Once you have a power hammer, keep clicking at the left hand side even when no creeps are visible. Often a power hit will knock them out before you even see them.
