Regardless of however the rest of this game goes, the voice acting at the beginning is incredibly terrible. Geeze, Armor Games, way to have some miscellaneous shmoe read the script like it was the minutes of a meeting! I've never rated a game down for the introduction before. I guess there's a first time for everything, because that ruined the game for me. 1/5
I've earned millions, billions, even octoquinquagintillions. But I still haven't made my first jillion and it's anybody's guess how long it'll take to earn a squillion! Is it gonna be yonks?
Bloons. Our ancient enemy. We have been fighting them for as long as anyone can remember. We kill them by the score, by the thousand... and still, they come. Our implacable foe knows no mercy, and shows no weariness. Since the dawn of time we have fought them until now, our entire society is based on war. Look at our cities and all you see is the industry of war. War! It is enough to make a grown monkey stare up at the heavens, shake his fist and proclaim, _'OOK!'_
All too often devs lump music and sound effects into one on/off toggle. Here's an amazing revelation: sound and music are _separate things_.
The lack of separate mute buttons makes this game unplayable for me. 1/5
Income generation is pretty slow at the beginning. It seems a little unbalanced to me, though it does improve after a while.
Overall, this is a great game! I love how it is a fusion of several game styles. It feels like a semi-idle/puzzler, with an arcade/retro feel helped along by some pretty nice 8-bit music. :)
Haha, I'm glad somebody finally commented on the music - I'm way more proud of it than I should be. There are definitely some balance issues - my goal was primarily to just get a game completed, then to improve my coding skills, with game design/balance being somewhat incidental (though I promise I did try!) I was going for an incremental arcade game, which I haven't seen much of before, so I'm glad you got that feeling. Thanks for alying!
If I was teaching biology I'd definitely assign this game for homework. Excellent educational software! (Used to be a teacher, so I'm not just talking through my hat here.) Only gave it 4/5 stars though, because the music is disruptive to concentration. Also, the game balance is weighted just a little too heavily toward education while being slightly stingy in providing actual gameplay. Still... overall, great game. :)
