Orks are swarmers. Don't use Demons, no matter what, unless you have extra money. You can rebuild an entire area of Ork troops really quickly, since they're so cheap, and they're only slightly weaker than Dwarves despite what everyone says. In two turns you can take out a fully defended base. Unfortunately, it's very hard to direct them as to what to do.
Quick note: The numbers on the attack aren't actually percentages. Look at the top of the screen; it shows the enemy's dice roll versus the 'percentage' of success.
Wristblades (Thief) + Rune Of Endurance (Paladin, but effects everyone) = Overpowered. You can kill pretty much everything without having to use Mana, you're really fast, and you don't have to worry about losing your hero if you screw up. Hit the little + button if that helped you at all.
On AI Party Members: You can have them. =/ Useful ones include the Wind Dragon, which summons baby wind dragons, the Necromancer, which is a default unit that heals itself and can summon Skeletons, as well as having a projectile attack, and the Pharaoh, a unit that has a devastating close combat attack, a fireball, and a Mummy summon. The Pharaoh is fairly rare, and can only be found down the stairs of one of the dungeons. The Wind Dragon can use its babies like little non-combustible bombs, dropping them from the air onto unfortunate groups of enemies.
