This is a silly game, lets see what the better ones I get are. :D
Drunken manwhore who likes to spin Bill Cosby!
Pathetic researcher who likes to swallow frogs. o.O
Strange accordion who likes to ride Bill Cosby. That actually fits with the first one. :P
"Handsome" woman who likes to BREAK GIRAFFES. She-hulk?
Do a repeated "S" pattern and you can dodge 90% of shots while landing 90% of your own. At least, you could, if your ship didn't occasionally decide to stop responding.
The beam cannons are really laggy. That wasn't a problem at first, when I could just say "oh, fine, so I'll limit myself to one beam cannon". Then I got to a level where all the enemies used some sort of beam weapon, and the game froze for a few minutes while I slowly took hits from, when it finally updated, what turned out to be rockets.
This is a good start, but I'd like it to be more... gamey? For starters, arrow controls to move, rather than right-click-drag. Maybe be able to select a single planet to affect, rather than toss around the entire area. And... I dunno... have some sort of... goal? My guys hit "civilization level 7" pretty quickly, but I think they where building spaceships around level three, so I'm not sure how that helped them.
So, there's a fire near me that I can easily put out and end the level and save the house. But, there are coins to collect, and people (or points) to save, way off to the side. So, being a good fireman that likes to get money and medals, I let the house burn a bit so the fire gets somewhere I can deal with after I save the people, who I don't count as having saved from the fire unless I touch them.
For the "get to the end in under a certain time" stars, there should be a way to detach your trailers, or at least re-equip the weaker connector. An irreversible upgrade that occasionally hinders you is kind of annoying. :P
I hate how the rng can just screw you... I can get the adventurers being unable to handle anything but a one-space wide corridor, but when the level directly connects to an unremovable section that causes death, loss of interest, or loss of massive quantities of gold trying to keep interest up... well, the whole point of the game is to make a good dungeon level. When the game says "make a good dungeon level, also, you can't", that... kind of sucks.
Putting lots of low level turrets (with low energy drain) is for various reasons /much/ better than one big gun. It's money/damage is low, damage/energy is high, does not get entirely used up against weak enemies, and pushes away kamakazi's much further. I made the best 10-energy weapon I could for 10k, I now have nine of them, and have so far blown through every level.
Best character depends on what you want. To unlock the bosses and "secret characters" you need someone with flying. The blue or silver dragons can spam infinite minions, and will therefore win any engagement... eventually. The birdman tribe leader will win faster with it's dps, but is more fragile and the dps attack is short range. The flies are a fast flier, for when you just want to skip 80% the levels. Necromancer is the best starting character (ranged dps, heals, minions), but doesn't fly. Probably would be the best character if he did fly.
Is there a way to get the other size-two creatures besides using your unlocks? The fours can be gotten off bosses or on that one map where they're a "hidden boss", but I haven't seen a single size-two in game.
Also, using a purple elemental to make a purple cube enemy and kill it does not unlock the purple cube (which I have otherwise not seen). I have unlocked the red and green cubes.
Oh, also-also. "Can't be the target of spells and effects" also stops the Technosavant's buff to neighboring ships, not sure what else it prevents that doesn't actually target.
@Nullvoid: Yeah, tried it three times and it crashed each time.
@Breach: Yeah, this game has a memory leak or something. I have to restart it every ten matches or it gets slooow.
@People complaining about 15 wins: On easy I got 87 wins in a row before I got an abysmal enough draw to lose. Those cheap red attackers are a good starting point.
