Beat normal on first try, same basic strategy as easy. 4 max lv.ion cannons, 4 max lv. missiles, 3 max bunkers, 1 max anti-missile, two upgraded economics centers, and all research completed. The planetary shield + anti-missle stops almost all damage. Fun game.
Took three attempts, to beat easy. I build zero bunkers, 4 ion cannons, two missile silos. and 2 economic centers. I was spending way too much on bunkers the first game and not upgrading. Lv.3 ion cannons are way better than lv.1. Also, put your weapons in the front row, so they can fire immediately. I was placing bunkers first, weapons second, and economy third. Wasn't working at all.
Wow, I just got the jumping on fishes to reach upper platform finished. Took a lot of trial and error, about 30 minutes, but I finally figured out to jump on the middle fish. My manual dexterity has always been low.

Now we jump on 1 of the 3 fishes, to reach the the upper plaform on the right, and continue to the right, into the room of the doors. To solve the doors room, try every door. This game is much shorter than the ancient cave in lufia 2. Took me about 3-7 hours to beat this game. Could take that long just for one run in Lufia 2. I
I got some more max hpts and was able to beat the 80 boss, spam click the healing potions, the boss is able to do massive damage. Much better to use 2x potions then necessary than to die.
I respectfully disagree with bliznitch. Even with lots of potions the lv.80 boss attacks for such massive damage and has colossal hpts that it is difficult to drink your potions fast enough. I didn't almost die because I ran out of potions, I almost died because I couldn't consume my potions fast enough. I'm lv.26 by the way. I managed to escape via disengaging from battle and using the escape wings.
In general you want to divide your runs into breadth runs and depth runs. In the former pick the deepest floor you can one hit all the monsters. Then, you sally forth exterminating every monster and plundering all items. In the latter you start at the deepest possible floor and plan strategically make sure to load up on potions while trying to make it to the next shop.
Be-careful about starting at too high a level. For example, I managed to get to start on lv.40 but almost didn't get the wings in time because the monsters were so difficult.
The mini-game is more difficult than the game itself. After three tries I gave up. My mouse doesn't move fast enough. I got an old computer and an old mouse so I am pretty sure it is impossible for me.
