I think I found a bug, if you raise your population by not getting hit, you don't get the extra worker/farmer/scientist. You still have to feed the person, and pay taxes. I was down one worker, let my planet starve, and then attempted to regain the worker via not getting hit. I then lost my 2nd worker. In short beware the .1 food bonus for not getting hit. Theoretically you could end up with no workers this way.
Same strategy started in Madagascar won easily. Seems starting country is critical. If you start in a large country like China or Russia that the disease will infect lots of people which will get the government attention and you will lose. Alternately, by starting in a small country your disease will inflict a small number of people and not be noticed. Basically, large country equals depth first which loses, small region means breadth first which wins.
Hmmm, I have a stealthy trait parasite with no symptoms and heat, cold, and moisture I started in Russia and lost due to Madagascar closing its borders. Seems I am correct that the number of people infected is key. That if 100 million people in Russia get infected other coutries panic, yet if 27 million in Australia get injected who cares.
Hmmm, lost again with parasite, started in China, only have 1 of heat, cold, and moisture resistance. Day 45 have about 166 million people infected, no symptoms. Seems number of people infected is key to Madagascar closing its borders along with other countries. Therefore, ideally you want to start in a small country with an air port and shipyard.
Hmmm, I tried to rush my previous strategy and it didn't work. On day 58 or so every country except Madagascar was infected which closed its shipyards. Only difference was I waited to get drug resistance level 4 to later when I won and starting country. Seems the government shut down transportation based upon visibility and number of infected people. So, I ended up infected too many people in one country and not enough in another. Trick seems to be low infectious and visibility until all countries infected.
Tried virus a bunch of times, couldn't win. Now I won twice with parasite. Went 4 drug resistance and one of the rest until all regions were infected. I started with Australia and the governments barely did anything till people started dying on day 85 or so. Won on day 200 or so realistic. Now to try to speed up the process for the impossible badge.
Finally, I got a strategy that let's me fill up the ogre starting with nothing. Basically, save up enough to get premium potatoes seeds, plant all 10 seeds. Then, plant more basics while you wait. Feed some to the ogre. When you sell all 10 premium you will get 250 money which is a lot to play with. I got 4-5 upgrades and rinses repeated until I was safe. Was so very close calls though had to feed the ogre some premium potatoes at some point.
lol 4 comments? That shows me the this zero deaths challenge was really bugging you out and that you liked the game enough to keep trying. I'm really glad for that! Congrats on finally getting it, and thank you for playing! :D
I'm taking a break. I went fibrous and tastier potatoes, then cup of coffee, but I couldn't keep the ogre fed. I would need a video to get the exact right order of upgrades. I'm thinking premium seed packet first, then use that to get a bunch of upgrades, might just work.
Trying again for zero deaths, managed to get fibrous and tastier potatoes just by selling regular potatoes. Then, I went for premium seed packet and lost before any finished growing. This time I will buy the premium potatoes later and go for longer tools and cup of coffee first.
Hmmm, zero deaths seems like you really have to know what your doing. I only managed to buy fibrous potatoes and one premium seed packet before losing, this is after beating the game and starting new.
Yeah, the first few minutes of a zero deaths run should make you pretty active around the farm. You should also really think what you do with your first 10 common potatoes. How many of them should you sell and feed the ogre? xD
Beat game, six deaths, 82:25 time taken. Was somewhat fun, but I would not want the game to be any longer. Was tedious at the very end when I had every single upgrade except the last.
I agree it gets tedious, unfortunately it's too late for changing the prices for upgrades or the slayer, or it'd be unfair to the people already leading the high scores. I will take extra care on that matter for the sequel. What do you think about trying the challenge of zero deaths? It's less grindy as it can be done in under 20 minutes. xD Thank you!
I beat the last level, not sure why I won though. In fact I could say that for most of the puzzles. I just went letter by letter from left to right hitting the right glasses if facing right and the left if facing left and kept repeating until I won. Bar 2 filled second to last and bar 1 last. No idea why this worked.
Congrats! Thank you for playing and commenting!
