I haven't played it yet but I know it will be good. I literally squealed when I saw this in "hot new games". Thank you Mateusz!! :D :D :D :D Happy Christmas guys...
Here is something to make playing a bit less frustrating:
1. You can get hit once. Hit a second time, you die and get a verbal warning if you have not met your "quota" - which is basically not getting promoted.
2. If you get hit after meeting promotion criteria (which should also be clearer please), you will not get a verbal warning.
Try to get promoted by killing without getting hit (seems obvious but was only obvious after trying to play a few times and getting frustrated)
3. Be careful cos you can't undo verbal warnings.
I like the art and music and concept. I can see how this game does very well for a 3 day design, so thank you to the devs! I would like to see volume control/ mute, and pause buttons like other commenters. Instructions could be clearer too!
It may be helpful to extend the game by having some way to "redeem" yourself from verbal warnings.
You can also achieve 30 combo on level 9 of vault defense if you have a nuke and the unlimited ammo power up. Wait for wave 2 (spiders) and nuke the lot :)
is there an option to not have the screen shaking during an explosion? it would be nice to be able to turn it off to save my eyes ;p enjoying the autoclick option very very much (it has saved my wrist)!
it's fun at first, but the repetitive nature of the game gets a bit old after a while, and the only thing really keeping you going is the "need" to finish everything. some of the developments are also not entirely intuitive. one of my issues with this game was the "reload to get a reward" thing. I thought it was cool until I realized it meant an elevated play count, which was kinda cheating (also - the game timing out and needing to refresh... is that even a thing, because I've never encountered it in other games.)
I love the game series, but I reaaaally don't appreciate the jump-scares :( the last part was not particularly intuitive, but otherwise I could navigate the game just fine. Having visual representations of the music notes is very helpful for those whose sound doesn't work, so you can play the game without sound if you need to. I also really liked the fly and grub puzzle and the fact that I can now arrange my inventory. It might be helpful to have a note to let players know they can do that though, since you could not do that in previous games.
Keep making great games! :)
agree with those who commented on the difficulty... there's not much difficulty and the sameness of the puzzle mechanic can be a bit annoying after a while.
but I enjoyed the zen music and for a while it was quite satisfying when everything swings into place with one movement of the mouse. it's a pretty unique game.
Enjoyed it for the most of it, but feel that the letters can be hard to read and they are a little small... perhaps a wider font could be helpful.
the music was not too obtrusive and I enjoyed that it was a straightforward typing game with no frills. also I love the graphics! that being said I feel there could be more variety in terms of the targets and it would be nice to see different rules for gameplay after the initial levels - that would keep me coming back to play :)
4/5. The jumping was definitely one of the most frustrating parts of the game, followed by some save points being at slightly unintuitive points - I had to try again and again before I could get to save. But for an LD challenge I think it was very well done. My computer was lagging which didn't help, but after some practice I managed to clear the climb! I enjoyed the music, though the jumping sound effect (like ripping paper) I found a little annoying. It would be interesting to expand on this game with a storyline to satisfy the mystery that comes with the game, as well as more challenging puzzles (not to do with jumping) that go beyond weighting buttons with rocks. (Although the premise of the game itself was easily learned, which I appreciated.) That being said, I didn't notice it too much because I was enjoying the exploration and (I have to say) frustrated by the climbing.
loved it! would love a "reset" hotkey/ onscreen option, especially for the higher levels when troubleshooting becomes a bit trickier. looking forward to more complex puzzles.
like some others have said, i agree it would be easier to type in the numbers. that, or have an option for the numbers to go down as well as up (rather than just up when you click) if you want to keep it as a mouse only game.
it was a bit buggy for me. at first the room on the right of the giant snake would only show the triangle, then the next time i played it, it showed the whole scene but wouldn't let me complete the puzzle. also the first time, i couldn't visit the room to the right in the corridor (the rooms that were initially barred). it would keep taking me back to the snake panel on the wall, and it would look like there was no snake piece in it though my inventory showed that it had been used. =/ if i clicked away and went back, it would show that the snake piece was in place again, but still not let me in...
