Game transitions are slow, it's unclear what powerups do, coins and kills from the other game times are not added. I think the rolling credits underneath the game cause lag (?), and the spinning icon wobbles during the game. Furthermore it'd be nice to also be able to use arrow-keys instead of wasd.

Thanks for the comment ST13R that's because this is first the version of the game when we will update the game we will consider adding what you said in your feedback .

Okay game; if you're planning on updating: make the game-screen a little bigger in height, so you can see the full atmosphere (and the meteors coming from those sides). Make it possible to jump while moving (it works *sometimes*, which is odd). Try adding a start- and finish screen, so people can see how long they've survived, and have a bit of breathing time before the game starts again. I'm liking the shaking trees, maybe you can add larger meteors when you've survived x-amount of minutes, which make it shake harder or something :) Anyway, good luck!

Please remove the login-screen, I don't want to play games that ask for my e-mail. Also, is there any reason your game wants to send notifications?

Developer response from magescofi

Notification is if your game is inactive and a friend want to play with you.

I like the concept, and the different types of blocks make it a lot more fun than most 'filler' puzzles, though I agree with most here that trial and error is just as quick as actually trying to figure out the puzzle. I furthermore don't like the short delay happening each time the line is drawing, I'd rather be able to already press my next move.

Pretty basic, but mechanics are tight. Please add a mute button. Something that'd be nice: a mode where you can add white blocks yourself, or where you can adjust the amount of white blocks. Also maybe add more 'enemies' which behave differently, for example faster, zigzagging or something. Anyways, good luck.

Okay, I like the premise, unfortunately I don't have a numpad, so meh. Anyways, with the mouse: it'd be a lot better if, when you click a third light, the one you clicked first would automaticly go out, instead of having to manually put them off again. nice visuals though

Developer response from JekOji

Hi, the idea of manually turning off the light is meant for an added challenge.

I like the premise, the retro-vibe is nice. I'd take a look at the hitbox of the long cactusses, and how the 'finish' is registered (In some levels I had to pass it several times before it let me go to the next level). Since the game is about 'finding family again', it'd be nice to either show level progression (e.g. 'level 5 out of 10) or to replace the flags with kangaroos, and show how many family members are yet to be found. Also wondering why the up-key can't be used for jumping. But I like the level designs mostly :) there are some nooks and crannies where it's hella hard to not walk into an enemy, but for the rest they look good. Good luck on development!

Aesthetics are nice, audio is fine. But please make this game keyboard-friendly. Tapping is for mobile, this game would be better if you could, for example, press space to go up (not tapping, just keeping it pressed). Same for using arrows in the 'choose a hero'-screen. It's also a little unclear to me how the throwing-acorns 'n stuff works. But looks good apart from that.

Like the idea, but it once you're stuck between two spikes that are close together, you instantly lose, just because when you 'jump' to maintain height, you jump into spikes, yet if you let yourself fall, you lose as well. I had most luck with just staying up forever. This game might be better if the block could also go left and right, and the spikes didn't go all the way to the other side of the screen, it'd give you a better chance to actually dodge. I do like the aesthetic, and the fact you have some time to react to the spikes before they pop out fully.

I like it so far, but some things you might want to adjust: give people at least a few seconds before the first obstacle to appear; At around 400, some obstacles seemed to disappear; the play button in the menu screen has some nice animations, but it kind of seems like it's loading something, which might be confusing to some. Add the R-key for instant replay. Make the instructions more visible. The ranking system doesn't work yet, and I'm wondering what 'level' means, and what the game-coins in the player menu are for. Like the aesthetics though, and the gameplay itself :) good luck

Gamescreen is too big. It'd be better if you give more in-game isntructions on what different 'windows' do. Movement feels a little awkward, but maybe it just takes some getting used to. Music is fine. Maybe add 'r' for replay.

SOo, the graphics are fine, audio too. The instructions are unclear though, I thought clicking ment clicking on the pet, though I'm guessing clicking anywhere works for dropping a cow. I've seen my pet grow, but there is no clear way of seeing if you are 'overfeeding'. Maybe put a hungry-bar in the corner, or show it visually: e.g. pet becomes bloated when fed too much, or thin when too little (colors might also work). Also, provide a way to reset.

Developer response from StarvingStudios

Thanks for the input. In game instructions is clearly something that I need to add. As for the vague death indicators, I thought I was being clever; the pet gets larger when you feed it, kind of like a pet gets happy when you overfeed it and you don't really realize it that the size increase is bad until it's too late. Similarly, the pet shrinks when it is hungry because it is easier to tell when a pet is hungry than when it is full. As for the lack of a reset, I thought it was deep or meaningful that the pet only has one life. However, I agree that the game was rather vague.

I like the premise, but some things could be made better I think :) First of, try to introduce each concept level by level (1 blue block, 2 enemy, 3 key, 4 other enemies. etc). I think this game would lend itself better for pure wasd (grid), as you have better control of pushing blocks that way, and guiding a player around in puzzles. It'd be nice to have the 'r ' key reset the level. The game-screen also doesn't fully fit the kong-game-box, which makes using the arrow keys annoying as then the game moves :x But I really like the old-school-dungeon-vibe :) Keep it up!

Okay, here's a list of improvements you could make to your game: Audio: fine, but stops when you go to 'restart?' Visuals: quite mismatched. Unclear which items you can or cannot interact with. you could show this with brighter and less bright items or something. Game-mechanics: 1) unclear when you get hit; sometimes I lose health while standing on a platform for example. 2) unclear how many times you have to hit the enemy, give him a health bar, or make it visually clear that he is getting low on health. 3) you can interact with the trees but they don't do anything, make them add health or something, and the chest for example too. or let yourself heal overtime at the tent. 4) it is also unclear if you are hitting the enemy, as the movement of the swing isnt finished when you tap multiple times. 5) jumping should be with the up-arrow or with w when using wasd, this is most intuitive for players. Good luck with further development!
