Wow. I'd thought we were left with the godawful ending of the 4th one. But now, a full three years later... wow. Now just get me Submachine 8, and I'll be happy.
An undo button might be difficult on the levels where you're rapidly moving back and forth over switches to catch falling blocks. How far back would hitting undo take you on that level? What could work instead is save states, or "snapshots."
On one low-level combo, the last turtle got caught in a loop bouncing in a straight line up and down, with the turret chaining it to the launcher. Which meant I broke 10,000 by walking away from the computer and letting that one turtle inch the score up all the way from the lower 2,000s. It took forever, but that's how I won Normal mode. I shudder to think what could have happened in Endless Mode.
I saw the comment from someone who took 116 tries to beat Challenge 15. So I decided to get that one out of the way before attempting the others. I got lucky on my third try. ^_^;
The storyline is breathtaking, the dialogue is magnificent, and the gameplay and puzzles are splendid. The characters were fantastically well-developed and the imagery was note-perfect... only problem was, the final level still raises more questions than it answers, and the epilogue doesn't fit with how torn up Jack was in The Company of Myself. Will there be a midquel or sequel where we find out more? Of course, I'd love a midquel or sequel anyway, but I'm hoping we get a slightly better bridge between the two games. Still a 5/5 overall, though.
That's it? I beat the third secret level, I was expecting a second ending. But no, I guess it was just the one ending with the other three levels for bonus content?
Lol, thanks for playing!
