Developers should read the top comments on this game and seriously consider playtesting their own game *BEFORE* releasing it. Only as a Beta release could this game be considered "good" simply because of the potential it has with further game balancing.
PROTIP: Buying higher-level ships is an INVESTMENT. If you wipe and run out of cash, you can downgrade ships and gain back gold to start trading again!
Good potential, but way too many gameplay flaws/bugs for being out for a month! To name a few: 1) if you wipe in the early game, and run out of gold, there's no way to grind/get back into the game. Requires deleting saved game. 2) The first ghost ship encounter might *not* happen, allowing you to get to the first town. When you finally do meet him, if you've spent all your gold on a new ship and no cargo, you can meet him and encounter bug #1. Plus, once you wake in town after the fight, the top-screen info disappears (town name, cargo, gold). 3) Although minor, lacks simple game review. Tooltip when mouse-hover over Cargo is hidden by your own company logo.
Suggestion: with all the confusion on what crew and sails do, add mouse-hover tooltips describing what each stat is good for.
Very easy to get stuck in the beginning of the game after losing your first battle and spending your $ on upgrades. No way to get back in the game, and you need to reset your progress. Player beware!
5/5 for excellent execution without the masochistic, punishing difficulty of Super Meat Boy. I loved the music, level design, and simple, but engaging, gameplay. I will be keeping my eye out for more from you in the future!
Did the developers even playtest this game?! 1-star because of a lack of basic gaming polish for an adventure game obviously meant to evoke nostalgia of Link's Awakening (it uses tons of the same sprites and textures).
1- Do Not treat the edge of the screen where you entered as a corner (move into a screen and walk to the side, you slide against the tree and go back to the previous screen by accident)
2- DO NOT require the player to spend a skill point just to learn a dungeon-related skill (once you get the swimming manual, you should know how to swim, and NOT expect the player to level up again just to use that quest-required skill).
These issues are frustrating to the core of the game. The rest is the scaling of weapons to exp/cost and enemy difficulty which, while troubling and unbalanced, is at least playable with less frustration than me wanting to gouge my eyes out with the darn Zombie Ripper!!
Have the developers abandoned this game? It should be revisited on several accounts: The gameplay is unbalanced and slow, various buttons in-game don't work (tips buttons), and the badges are broken, just to name a few.
Sorry, but I played SimTower a lot when I was younger and this is a sad, cheap knockoff. If you're going to mimic the game, at least add your own spin as a new feature or game changer; don't use the same amenities like restaurant(ballroom), cinema, spa, etc.
To anyone having trouble getting the badges, try using a different browser. Firefox doesn't auto-load the game, but when I tried Internet Explorer the game loaded instantly and my badges were awarded. DO NOT right click the game and choose forward or play, as that will disable badges.

Blackjack is actually broken. If the dealer busts, it still counts as "You Lose". Example, I chose Stay with 19, dealer had 6 and 7 then hit for a jack. Total was 23 and dealer should have bust, but I lost my money instead.
Great concept for the game, excited to see what is added. No feeling is worse than arriving at the dragon having made the best and most efficient choices, and still not being able to kill him (as level 22!). Strongly suggest rebalance certain aspects: ~maybe a timing-trigger for higher crit chance on attacks, ~Discount at stores if you are replacing an existing item, ~Elixirs can restore a percentage of Lifespan.
Keep it up!
Strangely addicting, despite the bugginess and awfully darkly shaded Inferno section. (I can barely see the pieces and where the stationary blocks are, and my brightness is at max) 3/5
sadly, gave 1/5 ranking. Illusion of control [challenges especially] is too misleading. You are supposed to 'control' the bots strategically, but the randomness in their movement is far too misleading. Career mode 5/5 though...
