It's good, but... to actually reach the stupid, impatient masses out there that you're trying to reach, you should probably incorporate them both into a single flash file, forcing them to play them in the order they're meant.
My main issue is that... bombs aren't instant. This kind of kills their normal use as an "OH $#&! I'M IN TROUBLE" weapon, and more of a tool to get rid of troublesome enemies. The thing is that some bosses are so hectic that functionality is kind of needed, especially for the extremefast bullet patterns (Boss 4!!!)
Since I don't see it mentioned anywhere... perfecting counts as a trick. If you start your aerial tricks immediately you can combo with the perfect... x2ing it, or further. Spamming pole vault + up and out is an easy 3k each, too.
... You only see the upgrade screen when you level up. You level up by gaining experience. You upgrade using cogs, which have no relation to experience. Who the hell thought of such a retarded upgrade system? "Oh, I have enough parts to upgrade myself! Time to go kill stuff until I magically am able to instantly integrate this scrap metal into my system!" Not to mention the fact that the level 3 gatling gun is weaker than level 1 spread...
Once upon a time, games were brutal. They made you restart the game when you died. This inspired waves of gamers who DIDN'T SUCK. Because this actually provides an incentive to NOT DIE. The difference in skill (and subsequent feeling of success when you win) between "Oh, if I die I can just try again" and "Oh shit I can't die come on!" is rather impressive. Try it sometime.
Looks nice. A few things are really missing though... Movement from the map screen, arrow key movement of the area map, and, perhaps most importantly, a method to exit menu screens (container, inventory, etc) from the keyboard. You have to hit that tiny little x in order to get out of anything. Intensely annoying. The setting is somewhat... disharmonious as well. Why would a lone wannabe adventurer have such a huge house? With a table set for six? With two large beds? With gold pieces stashed in every available container? It's a little much... but not nearly enough to ruin the game. Good work, overall.
Last boss is pretty badly bugged... Undodgable ranged attack, and after a short amount of time he became invulnerable during attacks, instead of the other way around. He would sometimes suddenly explode in a shockwave without going into his attack animation. Entertaining, if not exceptional.
Like many others, the sliding air controls were annoying. The discontinuity between level blocks was also somewhat disconcerting, though easy to get used to. My favorite part was that there were clear "good" and "bad" paths through a level. Screw up and your path through the level just got ten or so blocks longer. Hint: If you do this, kill yourself and you'll appear at the last key again.
Sorry! Please forgive me! Epic levels, and not actually too difficult if you've gotten used to the bouncing by this point... Fun game, but definitely not worth 15 bucks. Five, maybe. If that's 1/4 of the game and I finished it in ten minutes, the full game won't even last an hour...
Tukkun, I'd just like to thank you for making (and maintaining) an awesome game. Figure you need some praise for your hard work among all the screaming. This is an idle game, people. Stuff is SUPPOSED to take forever.
It would be nice if the Mystery Pet was given a boost as well. I understand the raising of mystery shop's prices was to combat new ridiculousness of the mystery set, but the pet still gives a measly 10. Obtainable in 1 2/3 minutes normally.
So how exactly does 500% of 2 turn out to be 12? Basic reward for pressing the button is 2 exp/gold. With a 500% boost that turns into 12. With a 600% it's 14. There's something fuzzy going on with Tukkun's math for the boosts...
Oh yeah... I'm not sure if this is just me or what, but of my 31 little sisters, very rarely do any more than five actually make it on the field, if even that many... the rest roll off the left edge or land way below the screen. I'd like to be able to use the army of ohko monsters I paid for.
