Well, the game was way more fun than I expected. Normal difficulty is a walk in a park, but hard is, surprisingly, actually quite challenging and requires some grinding and thoughtful shield usage. Like others said, it practically asks for mouse-based controls, and perhaps some final polishing here and there, but other than that, a decent game deserving better score and more renown, so here's your 5/5, and don't stop making games :3
@tennesseefats, I think this game is supposed to be quite difficult, especially if you pick the wrong skills. IIRC, first chapter was downright unbeatable if you took the wrong path while building your team. Though, I agree - train battles were way too easy, but they were probably aimed at people who relied more heavily on ranged attacks rather than CQC.
Grab & throw is a very powerful weapon, actually. Throwing a corpse at your enemy will only shave off 20 HP at best, but it's: a) guaranteed to hit, and b) costs only 2 AP! Furthermore, corpses are reusable, and if you position your characters carefully, you can literally destroy the boss in a single turn by throwing corpses at them. Oh, and I'd give 100/5 if I could :3 Also, is it possible to highlight new/unread items in Codex, at least until "Done" is pressed? I'm curious about the lore.
After warping to level 400, it almost becomes dark souls with all those "YOU DIED" messages :3 That said, there's a way to temporarily break your health limit just by doing crit with damage and healing maxed out. I do 270K damage, and it heals me for 54K - even if total sum is more than health cap! Also, please add kongregate api for score tracking, at least for max floor passed (not just reached with warp, but passed). I want to see how crazy others are.
This needs a suicide button to immediately move Tim to last checkpoint. Moving platforms bug out sometimes, not reaching the height they should, making it impossible to get out of some places.
Ok, so after a few days, spending every evening on trying to beat "harder", I name my town "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU" and leader "Captain Obvious", 'cause it's friggin impossible to win. Guess what happened next.
Too bad it doesn't remember that I've completed the game already. I can do with defeating Mist again (because **** her, right? :3), but I wish first 3 eps would award badges retroactively as advertised
We totally agree about Mist u.u
About the badges, it doesn't depend on us at all - we ourself learnt about the badges just this morning! :D It's all on kong.
A good game overall, but you really should find a proofreader/corrector next time. Your English "that is hurt" my eyes even though I'm not a native speaker :3 Also the difficulty curve requires a bit too much grinding, but it's okay for an RPG, I guess. Fix that, and bring us an eggcellent game next time!
Well, the first thing I did was running over the peaks and jumping inside the void, now endlessly falling at very high speed :3 There probably should be a way to restart besides refreshing the page.
For anyone struggling with bobbylove challenge: instructions on pipe are a bit unclear, you can use "challenge | (math goes here) | solve" to solve the challenges in single command. Also, you don't have to type everything by hand, you can enter the commands in the terminal beforehand and then just reuse them with up arrow once you start the challenge.
...Well, it does get somewhat challenging around level 4, but it takes long minutes of boredom to get there. And there's no confirmation for bomb usage, so I end up wasting all bombs accidentally when row shifts upwards. Also, with meows on each tile click it sounds like the poor cat is being tortured. Playable, but could be much better, 3/5.
I'll look at Kongregate api. Thanks.
