You can also solve a level by using fewer blocks than provided, then moving the block that's not being hit so that it IS hit by every other orb. I think that a way to solve this would be to make it so that if you move a block, it instantly becomes white as if it wasn't hit. Then when it's placed, it can be colored by a ball once more. Otherwise you can "falsely" keep portals open using every other ball.
Regarding the menus, I meant both the main menu and the "Level complete" menu. The boxes that lead to the different levels, the play button, options button, "next," "save," etc could look like neon boxes or something to fit with the theme. Themed or colored menu boxes would probably look cool and help the game to seem more polished. Particle effects for the pipes would also seem pretty cool too, as you suggested.
Plus, sometimes victory can be achieved by doing one portal at a time, making it so you can use all of your red AND blue blocks putting orbs into the red portal, then use them all again on the blue. Not sure if this is intended, just letting ya know.
Its actually a pretty cool game, I wouldn't be surprised to see it under "hot new games." Some suggestions would be a 1) reworked menus that flow with the theme (maybe glowing boxes, etc), 2) maybe make the pipes glow like the orbs do, 3) make it so that the portals only open while you're not moving blocks. Right now you can move the blocks and kinda "catch" or "hit" the ball and make it in. Also, I'm not sure if you are worried or not but the orb can hit the side and corner of the blocks, which almost seems like cheating when you place a lengthwise block so that it acts like a vertical block. Menu and pipe presentation can make a big difference, I say. Great concept, great game; hope to see it on the front page.
Thank you for the honest feedback. I have addressed number 3 and portals should work properly. As for number 1, are you referring to the menus on the menu screen or during gameplay? For number 2 I was thinking of a particle effect to help distinguish between the colors.
Tips: 1) Cannons are very useful for defense, but not very effective at pushing away creeper without range upgrades. Unless you use a lot of cannons, sprayers are much more effective for assault. 2) Always include some cannons in your attack to defend against Creeper. 3) Always utilize the power nodes; if they're too far away for a weapon to be utilized, use a reactor or strafer/bomber. 4) Buy some reactors if you have surplus energy. 6) Wait a little while before you deploy the Forge; it takes a lot of energy to make and upkeep. 7) Efficiency upgrades rule. 8) Mortars are extremely effective against deep creeper. Mortars on power nodes have extreme range and are effective at siege on other spawners. 9) When you have an energy siphon, expand your energy network quickly; you'll deplete the siphon/surplus, but your supply will regenerate much quicker from then on. 10) Shields make great attack and siege weapons.
Needs an indicator of when "strong" or "armored" has been typed. Like put a little shield right under the bar if the next unit will get an armor bonus, so i don't type it twice on accident.
The blocks chase your future position: they actually try to go in front of you. Keep this in mind as you try and dodge; if you move one direction, they will actually lead you and smash you full speed directly. Make sudden backtracks and turn often. Circles seem to confuse them well.
@eddagosp: Damage = base power x idle power. That helps you mine faster, even while the game is closed, thereby earning more money. Active power, on the other hand, acts as a multiplier ONLY when the game is open. These multipliers work hand in hand with your upgrades, manual power only working while CLICKING, and idle power only working with auto clicks, which go on even when the game is closed. The percentage is not arbitrary, it increases over time, even while the game is closed. Auto-click power increases with upgrades.
I make $205740000000000000000 every hour on the internet. I have not worked a day in my live but last month my pay was $148132800000000000000000 just working on the internet for a few hours. try this out ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, www.kongregate.com/games/Crovie/idle-mine
A good way to figure out which ore is most efficient to mine is to look at the bottom left corner as you flip through the list. The ore that gives most auto g/s will give you the most money for your time. (Stronger ores with more durability take longer, and although rewards are higher, you get them less often. Weaker ores are mined faster, but have lower rewards. Auto g/s can give you a good idea of the best middle ground). If you need gems fast, mine weaker ores, preferably the best ore you can still one-hit, clicking or idle w/e you prefer.
Should also be fixed. Thanks for reporting.
