I have to add to the people here that belive this could have done better. I don't really mind if the gameplay reminds me of other games, what I though it was most simular too was Skyhard heroes. however I liked the buff feature that you get after you successfully destroy a building. However what really put me off, was that I was able to do 3 missions and and attack 2 players, then I was out of stuff to do for the next 16 minutes. I like games that I can spend hours on tweaking messing about, building doing quests missions etc etc. I do not favour games that uses any kind of energy system that limit how much you get to play at a time.
the game seems pretty interesting, however I do agree with raarmy's critisism. The game is to slow paced. It doesn't really help that the battles get even longer because the enemy allways got a card on their hand that nullify your dps leaving you only with your main hero to attack with.
I played this game both on armorgames and is currently playing this game on facebook. This game is actually alot of fun. It works pretty much the same way that ccg games work, only you don't play with cards, you play with servitours. You gain strenght, improve yourself and get bigger and more powerfull army. That the game play itself and you can stop playing at any time makes it ideal for me to play at work, where I can stop playing and actually work if work comes my way. From all the duel games and games that play them selves out there this is definitely among the better ones. However what I struggle to see is why is a obviously complete and finished game presented in the beta section?
As the game mechanics go, they are flawless. I like the graphics on the scenery. I understood quickly that this was most likely a game test, I died a couple of times before I understood I didn't actually have any weapons, and I needed to find the table with them on first. I haven't succeded in finding any food or water yet. I suspect that's not the objective. Without any kind of map, this is disorienting, but I guess that doesn't really matter. I killed a couple of zombies with my hand gun and the sniper rifle in and out of scope. Now you need to make the frame of the game. Do you want to make an action game, or an rpg? If writing isn't your thing, team up with a writer that can help you make a story. No matter what kind of game you make you need a story. My favourite zombie game is dead island, so personally I would love to see something in that neighbourhood.
on the plus side
-you actually play the game, you don't just push a button to trigger a chain of events and watch the game play itself.
- I like the upgradesystem
construtive critisism
- The graphics were state of the art on the amiga 500, about 10-15 years ago. Today - not so much.
- I don't like the top down angle, I wish you swapped from 2d to 3d.
This is fine for a test of game mechanics. The battle works, your upgrade system works as well. The minimap looks horrible, you should do something about that.. However now comes the challenge, how do you go forward to integrade this gameplay into a game? You need a story an enviornment, and you need more variation - more boats - more weapons. Play other pirate games for inspiration. And whatevever you do.... don't make an energy system.
I am following the beta tests, and what get me going are new innovate games. Don't get me wrong guys you got a rock solid product here. I couldn't find any gamebreakers, the graphics were allright, and as I said the gameplay is fun. It's just not very original. On this site alone there are at least 3 other games exactly the same, only they have a different wrapping. Vikings, zombies, cyberpunk to mention some. Same game different wrapping.
We know this style of game is a little long in the tooth and not for everyone, but we've put a fair few years of development into Pirate Clan and continue to update it to keep it fresh. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
Pirates are allways fun, however spite a clean game, nice graphics and at least in the short run fun gameplay, we have done this before so many times. This game sadly brings nothing new to the table, and I have spendt the 10 minutes I am going to spend on it. Plus for oiginal graphics, minus for releasing another clone, and old game in a new packgagde. This game would keep me entertained for a week max.
This genre of games is not for everyone and other people may be compelled to stay on and give it a shot. We thank you for coming by and giving our game a go!
My first thoughts on that the game manage to promote an uneasy feeling. However I am horrible at solving riddles and puzzles. I managed to find a map some sunglases and a orange crystal and that's pretty much when I had enough. You get no sense of danger, just the clock ticking and timing your failure. I imagine that people that love puzzles will find this game interesting, but it just frustrated me. I would ease up on the puzzles in the beginning to lure new players in, and throw in som real danger that could hurt you to intensify the need to get out of there.
This is another browser game that pretty much play itself, you just have to give directions towards what actions you want preformed. We are all used to this by now. However where this game stands out, is that if you are patient it's acutally possible for you too to become really powerfull without paying. The game mechanics are simple and fast to learn. This game is seriously addictive and fun to play. There are a stupid graphic bug With a Field up to the left of the screen that they have missed to fix in the last 4 updages, and the game still have some major bugs. This game was released way to early. It is comming nicely together. This is in my opinion the best browser game from this Company yet. You can pay Your way to the t op, but it's insanely expensive so not to many do this. Most People just buy suit and wings and leave it at that. I wouldn't spend Money on it,( well I did,but just a little.) But it's Perfectly possible to enjoy this fun little addictive game without going broke.
I have been playing this game on the r2server since launch. Basicly they have taken out parts of their earlier games and put them together in a New packagde. However the Graphics in this game is simply stunning. This beauty comes at a price though, as it's demands alot of Your computer and Your internet Connection. If Your internet Connection aren't good, prepare to refresh the game alot.
Guys instead of just complaining, how about comming With constructive critisism on how the game could be improved ? some of the Developers actually listen. I Like the graphic style that they have chosen for the game. The game mechanics is a little confusing though. During my last combat I hit the oponent last every time, and as far as I could tell I lost every clash With every hero. I have no idea how I won the Battle. I will Write more as soon as I have tested it out further. But based on the critique so far I Guess the game need to be more balanced to be player friendly.
My strongest issue against this game have allready been adressed by Realta, allthough I would og even further. I would og so far and say that it would be best if the game didn't have any energy system at all. Why game Developers keep integrating them into their games is to me a mystery. You want People to play Your games for as long as possible. This is wise for several reasons. The longer People play the bigger the chance is that they spend Money on Your game. You don't make People angry when their energy run out. People not getting angry at Your game make them like the game more.
Now this is a game that I can get behind. I wish to share my first impresions of this game. The first thing I wish to adress is the graphic style that you have chosen. I find it appealing. It's well drawn and it doesn't look like all the other games that you find in this genere. The second thing I wish to adress is the gameplay. I love the gameplay. That is actually this game strongest point for me. I am at work, and I am allowed to play browser games at work in my downtime. The way that you Control the flow of the game, and nothing happens unless you want it to is great. It allow me to wack a mob take a phonecall and then wack a mob again.
I finally got around to try this game. And gosh, this is really fun. I love the animations I love the intuition that you develope while you fight. I love the twist you've made on the fighting. This is new, this is fresh, this is innovative and this is really really fun. For now I seem to be able to get on fine without diamonds, hopefully it will stay this way. Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing game and I do wish that you will be able to earn money on it. But I hope you allow those that can't or woun't pay be allowed the same progress allthough somewhat slower. Summary 2 thumbs up.
Yeah there is definitely some stuff to tweak. For example as mentioned here how to get past 99% loading after you have created a profile and is trying to load the game.
My first impression of this game is very good. I like the combination of ccg and builder strategy that you got. I am also very gratefull that you can adjust the combat speed to your liking.
Now to the constructive feedback. If you look at all the beta games that arrives here there are one major theme that keeps returning. Energy system. People do not want it. Now I have been able to play for quite a while now and haven't noticed the energy system at all. But how will this affect the gameplay as I get up in lvls ? Another tiny detail would prefer if the combat animation and sprites were a little bit bigger. I feel like I am watching an ant farm from high above. All in all this is really good stuff, and I am very curious to how you go next with this game.
I have now tried this game out a little more and as it stands now, allthough it's a solid product, it falls short to the competition. There are so many other simular games out there that are build exactly the same way, with simular graphics and the same gameplay that as it is not it stand like a poor copy. The graphic is beautiful, but there are to many shortcuts. The player characters lack customisation, you don't change your appearance when you put on new gear, as long as the autofight feature is present people will use that, and the game become old very quick. If this game was the first it would be brilliant, but its not. I can mention without even trying at least 5 titles that's exactly like this and I know of at least 5 more. I stand by my first impression in my first posting as they turned out to be very accurate.
We know this style of game is a little long in the tooth and not for everyone, but we've put a fair few years of development into Pirate Clan and continue to update it to keep it fresh. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
