I actually found this a bit challenging, but mostly because of it's quirks. The game delays on this computer, when in fact, it could probably run any shit-storm game without any lag, so I'm assuming it's the game's fault. The controls were unreactive at some parts, and I even got stuck against fences some times, I'd go up against it and not be able to back up, or jump down, so I'd be forced to jump upwards ( which sometimes wasn't even an available option). There were also some points in the game where I'd either hit an enemy first and he'd continue moving like a missile-projectile, or I'd get killed even when I was never touched at all. Just the usual 'wow, 1 cm away and I get killed!' type. It'd just be great if you could be exact and all. It's not a bad game, just some annoying quirks. At most, I'd give it a 3/5 for a great gameplay, at least until you actual beat it, assuming half your computer is still intact.
Might just be me, but the PvE battles seem WAY too hard, and the prices for packs are way too much to even 'boost' your decks. There's not even a chance to hurt the enemies, because it's always an attack which is countered by another attack, where your enemies are always blocking your attacks. Which brings me to another point...I can't progress anywhere past the third level without coming back every day for this 'daily reward' chest. The monsters you get from the packs are very weak either way. Personally, I don't see much hope at this time for this game. It requires patience, which I do have, but to a limit.
Great game, but some things that ruined it for me. First off, the monsters attacked way too fast. I was trapped in a corner without being able to fight back, which brings me to my next point. The attacking system. When monsters would hit you, you can't immediately attack back, which is why I got stuck in corners a bunch of times. Countless times, I kept on getting spawned killed. For example, one gear killed me three times in under a second. My last point is the fact that there's no invincibility. I was 'spawn-camped' several times in one level. All of these points ruined the game for me completely, despite the fact that you didn't have to get perfect on the levels. I was a dummy for the monsters, who had a longer range than me, supposedly. Great game, but horrible little quirks.
Wait...is the developer improving the game ( as in, adding stuff to it ) instead of creating a new game, or is this game still incomplete but suggestions and bugs are being added/fixed?
Personally, I think the challenges are kind of annoying. I think I played this before on armor games, and on one of the challenges was /way/ too fast. A good game, but kind of difficult for a select people.
Sorry for the triple post, but I wanted to put out a little comment of my other theory about this...in Ending #16, it says that Angela was an artificial intelligence in the simulation device, from the past. A memory, to say. This 'reinforces' the ending when Todd marries Angela and gets her checked out at the hospital. They scanned her so that she would be put into the device in the first place. What I mean to say, is that #32 ending is the original ending/beginning, because it provided the AI for the device itself.
And about the Simulation; It truly feels as if it's real, but not real at the same time. As if this device simulates everything from the user's memories, and changes them, then advances to create new memories. In a way, it seems almost creepy to be able to see how you can change your life completely in one choice.
As far as I can tell, and with Insight from Greg's comment, Future Todd's treating it all as a game, and since Todd had mentioned that he had always thought about Angela, it makes me think that maybe Future Todd obtained an obsession with Angela, and when he kills Clint (ending #26) he's expressing his jealousy. Future Todd is changing Todd's life , twisting it to how he wants it. In most of the endings, though, it really shows how crazy and obsessed he was about Angela. When Present Todd doesn't attack the guy who grabs Angela and points a gun at him, Future Todd kills the guy and suddenly shows regret of all the things he's done. He tells Todd to abandon his life, because it's only filled with regrets. Ending #23, which made me think it was some kind of simulation. A simulation to repeat your past-life, change it as if it was a game, as if it IS a game. I think it's brilliant, especially with the way the story unravels itself.
For anyone having trouble with paratroopers when they land on the ground and survive, save up for the last paratrooper upgrade (75K, which isn't a lot late-game) to make getting all six stars easier. No need to worry about surviving paratroopers! Rate this up if you found it useful.
Is it just me, or are the events in a game fixed? I reloaded my save several times only to have the same people die over, and over, and over. Again, a great game, but obviously luck doesn't favour me. At all...
It's a great game, but I feel like the bad-events are too common on hard+. I had three people die consecutively in three days, all from sickness. Ever played with two survivors? I did.
SDGS_12.tmp and SDGS_56.tmp describes life very accurately. I think that this machine started to watch and analyze humans, became too dangerous and smart, so they had to shut it down.xXxcolbyxXx's theory is some-what relevant to what I'm talking about. The A.I. had gained a conscious, able to think and decide for itself between right and wrong.
Thanks, fixed :)
