@omegareaper7: as a counterpoint to your argument "of course it is random, it is a card game"—Kongai is a card game where you do not have to deal with random card draws.
@TBounds: are you sure that monster didn't have momentum? If a creature has momentum, they'll ignore the shield effects. The sappire charger has momentum by default. Gravity also has the card "momentum" which can give momentum to other creatures.
The game is a little bit too easy and doesn't require ANY strategy. Everything you try works, all you have to do is spamming towers close to corners. This game could be a lot more fun if you made it harder. Also, the units are too repetive too. Five units and upgrades. All upgrades do is improving your damage output/range and nothing special. More diversity would also be nice,
(Split comment due to 1000-characters limit, part 1 of 3) This game is generally good, but not flawless. The first flaw is that it hides the mouse every frame (-1 star for that). But the larger flaws is that this game introduces "ultimate equipement", this makes this game unable to introduce beter equipment for the next chapters. First are items that give auto-status-effect, like the yellow fairy and the scarab of protection. Haste means basically double efficiency of a character (attack twice as often), so does scarab of protection (half damage recieved = take twice as long to kill). There exist no better versions of status effects, so therefore they'll always be great items, no matter if it's in chapter 1 or 8.
(Split comment due to 1000-characters limit, part 2 of 3) The elemental resistance are completely flawed too because they give relative reduction, not absolute like the DEF stat. 100% water resistance is in chapter 1 just as effective as in chapter 8. The rainbow disc is the ultimate flaw. Luckly, it's currently unique, but in future chapters you will need to make better items to make users keep refreshing their inventory. Double rainbow disc + rainbow aura lv. 1 = 100% resistance to all elements exept physical, thauma, (can enemies use the "divine" element?) and the element the character is weak against. There does already exist a steel stole to do physical 50% resistance. If you add an 50% physical restance shield, 50% thauma resistance hat and 50% thauma resistance sword, you'll be nearly completely invicible (exept the element you've got the default -20% for, but that will be fixed with rainbow aura lv. 2).
(Split comment due to 1000-characters limit, part 3 of 3) Also note the reactions, we've got physical -10%, -20% and -30%. In case you create a -40%, we'll become imune to physical attacks if we get the reactions right, so that ability cannot be added. But which physical reactions would you add then? Keeping the same reactions for the other 5 chapters. Seriously, you've disigned this like it was the final chapter of the series. My final rating is 4/5 stars (5/5 for the game, -1 star because you hide the mouse every frame), but I guess this will be a lot lower on the next chapters.
Default rating: 0/5; +4 points for the effort of creating this game; -1 point for the lack of a quality button; Final rating: 3/5. Seriously, this NEEDS a quality button, and in fact, FLASH GIVES YOU ONE IN THE CONTEXTMENU WITHOUT HAVING TO DO ANYTHING! But some developers seem to INTENTIONALLY remove it.
First of all, the instructions screen is only once (you don't get it a second time). They do also only show up if you haven't clicked the instructions button on the main menu before that, so without it, you wouldn't know what you have to do. Second, you can customize the controls in the settings menu. Third, ugrade speed or counter to get more control over your block.
Why is this game so "impossible and dumb"? This is a survival game: it doesn't have an end. Besides that, if you play if a few times, you should be able to reach wave 30 easily. If you post critism, then atleast explain why it's bad and how it should be improved.
People uploading this sort of games (as far as I can still call them "games") should get permabanned without warning. You haven't even made this game yourself (stolen). 1/5+flag
All screamers are an auto 1/5 (but they deserve lower than -infinity/1). I'm lucky I had disabled the sound before playing this. Beside that, this looks stolen. Flagged too.
There are 2 epic fails in this: 1. Do not use onClipEvent for shuch stuff. Create a class instead: it's more organized and dynamically useable; 2. this._x = _root._x is an epic fail too, first of all, the "this." is unneeded. And second, it should be _parent._x (instead of _root._x) because the x and y co-ordinates are relative to the parent, not to the root (if the parent IS the root, there is no problem, but it can be that he doesn't want to attach the cursor to the root but to a container or something).
You say that the difference between between static and dynamic text is that dynamic text is selectable? That is a complete lie. Static text can be selectable too as well as dynamic text can be unselectable: just toggle the "selectable" property which is by default true for dynamic text and false for static text. As well as you haven't taugth us how to dynamically change dynamic text or how to record input text (not that I don't know it myself, but it should be mentioned in this tutorial). 1/5
