Quixzambundu, S = spread, R = rapid. The first level of spread just fires two shots forward (similar to the red powerup in Raiden).
I will continue to make games (and money), even if only a handful of people enjoy them. Hahaha.
The pace of the game was a bit slow for me, but the 3D graphics and music were awesome. The game was entertaining enough to keep me hooked until the end and max out all of the upgrades. Great game, but it could be faster paced or have a steeper difficulty curve.
ace2309, the story is loosely based on the Pacific theater of WWII. The player and allied fighters are based on the ME-262. Some of the earlier Japanese fighters do resemble the ME-163 now that you mention it, but that wasn't my intention.
Also, some of the Japanese fighters are based on the Shinden.
Awesome game. I think that it should be rated higher than it is honestly.
I like how you crosses Tetris with the shooter genre. This is quite innovative.
Awesome game. The sound effects got a bit annoying (maybe they had too low of a sample rate?) and it could have a few more things of interest (like more types of enemies, or introduce a diverse cast of enemies earlier in the game). This is a great concept though.
Menu music taken from Megaman X. Needs a mute button and sound effects for weapons and explosions.
I'd also argue that either you should make the player die in one hit, or give only one life with more health. Also, there should either be a shop alone or powerups in-game alone (just my opinion).
Great game. It could be improved though.
Stolen graphics and obviously stolen music from Empire: Total War (very bad looping-job on the menu too). I really hate leaving such negative comments, but this on deserves it.
Kenneth, that's the point. Only an enemy hitting the center of the ship (indicated by the blue glow) should cause death. It's designed like that.
Thanks for the comments people. This was a one day game.
Pretty cool. How'd you pull off this game in Flash? Did you program the AI and specials yourself?
The controls are a bit awkward for my tastes, but descent game.
I couldn't get past the first level. It seems like all of the enemies shot each other down and my shots were completely ineffective. Also, the enemies shouldn't immediately face you, they should have to turn to face you. This would make the game more balanced and entertaining.
It's a good start, I'll give you that, but much more could be done. Just keep at it. This is, in a way, similar to my "Arian Starfighter" and "Crimson Gauntlet" games.
