My only major complaint with this game is it's easier when I don't try to use the gun at all. When I just focus on driving around the obstacles, I have a better chance of getting a medal. That seems like a design flaw to me.
For anyone getting discouraged playing level 2 or 3...the game gets *much* easier starting with level 4. You start getting weapons that just destroy everything.
Normally I play a game until I earn all the badges, but I can't stop playing this one. It makes me wish there were more badges just because it would be fun to try to earn them. I'll keep playing anyway, though!
WOW. One of the hardest, and most rewarding, hard badges I've earned in quite a while. A tip for the final boss...find the area on the middle right directly under the boss to hide from most of his attacks. Then, keep trying until you get attacks you can dodge well.
I got my hard badge and then immediately died. That was very, very sad. But for anyone trying for the hard badge, I recommend a werewolf fighter and a shield. Pump up your stamina and run for those exits while spamming your shield!
I loved this game before the upgrades, but now it's gotten way better! The star rating seems to be broken, though, because I can't seem to rate this game 6/5.
This is a really fun game, but...and I hope I don't sound like a jerk...I think I'm more interested in seeing where this idea goes as opposed to playing it over and over like I have with other Nerdook games.
This is a very, very good game, but it's not balanced as well as it needs to be. The difficulty curve seems high. There doesn't seem to be much to reward multiple play throughs other than getting slightly better at getting through a room. You start at the same level every time and never really get better.
I'm not saying this to disparage anyone who likes this game, or the people who make these games, but when I play a game like this or Endeavor, I just feel like I don't get it. I don't understand the appeal to games that have lots of jumping. Saying that, this game is beautiful and really well presented, so it's good, just not my cup of tea.
I've beaten lvl 4 twice with the same method.
1) Don't do anything until you get $500 saved up, then immediately buy a salvage yard.
2) Save $250 and then spam 5 shovelmen as fast as possible.
3) Save another $500 and buy another salvage yard.
4) Now, keep spamming shovelmen in groups of 5. It's very important to send them out as a group.
5) Buy a trailer to increase population.
6) Spam 10 shovelmen as a group, then keep spamming in increments of 5. - this is a constant
7) There's going to be a huge group of zombies coming followed by a fatty. Wait until the fatty just gets across the bridge, then call the yee-hae harvester. (the 4000 point one)
8) Right about here, you should be able to afford a farmhouse.
10) As soon as you can, build a garage.
Now, you're home free. If you can keep sending out the $900 pick-ups while calling out the 4000 and 5000 yee-haw powers when you see fatties, while keeping up a steady supply of the pick-ups, you should be able to win.
I really don't like how you have no idea what cards you're going to have going into battle, or how the CPUs cards will behave differently for no discernable reason, or how haphazard the powers are.
The 4th level is about as bad a level as I've ever seen. It's hard, but it's the bad kind of hard. It requires playing the game over and over to learn the patterns of the enemies and to employ a very specific strategy to beat it. It's a shame a game like this penalizes creativity in an attempt to lengthen the gameplay, because the game is very clever. The enemies are humorous, the setting is humorous, and the weapons are humorous.
It seems to me a lot of times people make suggestions, they sound great but would require a lot of programming work. Here's an idea to keep the game a bit fresher and more challenging that wouldn't require too much work....
What if every unlocked character started off at full HP, but after you go through a level with a character, any HP lost is permanent for the rest of the game until the boss is beat and the game restarts. This would almost force people to use different characters and use some strategy on which characters to use and for how long. Just an idea....
