I'm one of those people that like to upgrade things incrementally (lowest price first). At Dagger level 58 and Mace level 31, they both essentially equal the same. I wouldn't bring this up, except for the fact that they have different prices on them (Dagger 2.3K; Mace 2.30K). Don't know if this is mathematics bug or if there is something that makes one more than the other. Thanks for the updates and the awesome idle game.
The game itself lags which is a problem on many fronts. First off, the lag messes with timing and makes it look like you should have hit a note. This makes the core mechanics completely unresponsive. Secondly, IT'S A FLASH GAME!!!! WHY IS IT LAGGING AT ALL?! These games really need to be omitted from Badge of the Day because these games are completely worthless (and that's me being nice).
300 money for first upgrade of basic unit. 200 money for elemental upgrades. The only thing you're allowed to afford between waves is the basic unit itself. Good luck pulling off combos because 200 money is near impossible to pull off due to the low amount of money that creeps drop. Basically, you're not getting passed level 1 basic towers due to poor game balancing.
The achievement lies. Here is proof: http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr302/yanta_album/Lies_zpstgmxwgpd.png?t=1432886131
Just as it says. At least 1 perfect and at least bronze in everything else, but I am unable to play the last track because I don't have enough "award points".
Game doesn't explain itself well. Sure, it is a card game, but all the stuff like "Arcane Power" and "Elder Defense" isn't explained to the player, neither is the use of Sanity in the game. It seems like an interesting concept, but it needs to have some sort of small tutorial to explain the significance of these mechanics. For this I give 2/5
1/5 Only got one star because that's the lowest I'm allowed to rate it. The lag breaks this game so badly. Point and clicks are supposed to be smooth. If it were easily fixable, then the game would have gotten a higher score. Sadly, muting the game doesn't fix the lag so it's not caused by the sound/music. It's something that is running behind the scenes in the game itself. I loved the other two Alice games and the story to this one seems pretty great. The big question is: Do you have enough patience to wait through each lag spike to get the whole story? Just to comply with a Developer Response from one of the previous top comments, I am running on Windows 7 in Google Chrome.
Your weapons are your only upgrades: negative; Have to beat the game to replay levels: negative; Losing the game after completing the mission: negative; No soundtrack of any description: negative. All these negatives costs a star in my opinion, leaving this game with a 1/5 rating for me.
Game children: Gee, mister, how did you get to be so rich?
Millionaire: Oh, my dimwitted friend, Marcus, is out there defeating 10 monsters every wave. Every now and again, I give him a shiny new ax, just to make him think there is some "mystical quest" behind his grinding. When, in reality, I'm just pocketing everything.
=_= Yep, easy money early in game...
One thing I always find interesting about these games. You get so focused, that when you look away from the game, everything's moving in the opposite direction that the screen was scrolling. Love these optical illusions. I know it has nothing to do with the game, just something I personally love about them. Still a really good runner game with very interesting mechanics built into it. 5/5
