If I may offer a suggestion, perhaps a 1.5x or 2x multiplier to Sanity recovered from discarding a card? As it is, it seems like, all things considered, discarding is never an optimal move.
I like the 3rd turret in the 3rd "age". It does almost as much damage as the blue turrets in the final wave, and it has much longer range. If you build 4 in the 3rd age they can stop anything.
This was really fun, but it feels like there's only 1 approach that works consistently: build a flat bridge, then put triangles across it, then connect the tops of the triangles. Whenever I tried anything else, it all came apart
Yep, that did it. It seems that rolling 1/3 of the way to either edge and then rolling that far the other way over and over is a pretty good strategy. It means that any balls falling on the side you're on are actually helping you re-center the bar, and balls falling on the other side usually roll right off. There's a danger period when you're on the far side trying to reverse the incline, but if you get lucky enough, you don't get sunk.
Ok, so most people seem to agree that this is a boring, luck-based game, but does anyone have any strategies for getting the badge? I've gotten 107 seconds by getting a small, spiky ball and leaning the bar back and forth a lot. Any other ideas?
I have never suffered through such agony for a badge before, and I hope I never will again. On a slightly more constructive note, there are too few levels with a 'clever' solution, and far too many where mindless trial and error is required. Level 47 comes to mind.
This is a great game that could stand some challenge tweaking. If a new player happens to luck into Ohbye's strategy, the game will be challenging up until about level 16, with levels 6, 7, and 8 being particularly difficult. The problem arises when players don't allocate their points 'correctly' in the first few levels. Then the above levels really are almost impossible. The problem could be solved simply by
a) Allowing players to reallocate their points
and/or
b) providing enemies who nullify Ohbye's strategy (perhaps enemies you can't kill by shooting)
I followed Ohbye's strategy and didn't have a significant challenge past level 16.
I have tried several approaches and cannot survive the first night of level 8. Normally I'm loathe to cry foul, but that level is either impossible, or has far too precise a solution.
