Did anyone else try to mutilate the corpses of the home-world humans in the hope that the bones might earn some more trinkets from space-dog? Maybe the robot learned empathy better than I did...
The sliding pads in the ice part of the twin challenge don't work properly. The next-to-last one (the lower of the two that are touching) makes Ina go down instead of up, even when pointing in the correct direction.
Tips for an easier game: try not to queue up too many actions at once so that you can respond quickly to dangers. Eat fireflies and queen bees as soon as possible. Build four separate webs in each of the four corners and reinforce each one heavily. Let the center stay clear; you'll have more than enough bugs without it. Eat any large bugs quickly so they don't break loose. Try to make each strand of web connect two branches so that you can lose any strand without losing your whole web.
Does anyone else have that one word that they type in at one point or another in every game in the hope that the game will someday acknowledge that it exists?
You returns to your office just in time to hear the phone ring. You answer. The chief of police is on the other line. "Congratulations," he bursts out. "We'd never have caught that murderer without your help."
"Thank you, sir," you mutter, but the voice at the other end continues unabated.
"I have to admit, after you found out that that visitor was a hired assassin with a grudge against him, I was convinced we had our man. I'd never have guessed it was the orphan!"
"Yes, sir," you reply. The officer seems to hear the grief in your voice, but though his next words are offered comfortingly, their tone is anything but.
"I'd never have drawn the connection between his depression and art-collecting and the murderer. You're a genius, my boy. There's not an art-collecting, depressed orphan on the streets that not terrified of you."
It would be nice to have a button to disable the Ancient Evil when playing the infinite game. It would let you mosey around and check out the bosses a bit more.
I found it almost impossible to get any food in the later game. I'd spend full days hunting with the soldier and get nothing. I'm certain the statistics are wrong--there's no way the soldier is 90% certain after day 20.
All of the dialogue during the campaign battles is skipped over, excepting the introduction and defeat speeches. The word bubbles appear and get half a dozen words in before disappearing. Does anybody else have this problem?
After a few games, it gets annoying to have to balance the ball for so long before unlocking a new level. It doesn't really get challenging until level three... Could some sort of checkpoint system be implemented?
@JackVermicelli: And, incidentally, have you noticed how easygoing all the factions are? "You just murdered a whole camp of our soldiers! That's it, we're changing our status to "unfriendly". Not cool, man, not cool.
I wasn't able to harvest the wheat. It said "Press enter to take wheat" at the bottom of the screen, but didn't register it when I did. Anyone else have tis problem?
I give this game five stars just for the upgrade system of your caravan. On foot-horse-horse and cart-tank-pirate ship on wheels. Sounds about right to me.
At least you didn't try to feed them, say, Ailidh the priestess.
