This needs a back button for when I realize I missed the end of the last statement. Just to go back to the previous piece of dialog.

This game is awful. Puzzles are nice, the art is a little weird. But it eats way too much ram for a visual novel. Losing the progress just after getting the first badge was delightful; losing it again after passing level 4, which crashed the browser, was marvelous. And the characters are really obnoxious. I was going to end this just to see if my suspicions about the plot would get confirmed, but honestly I don't care anymore. I just hope this never gets BOTD on a weekend.

Hold down the enter key to skip the conversations, you don't really need them for the puzzles. (You'll need to read the hints though, if you're stuck)

Rae is a programmer... he was supposed to know at least basics of math. After solving the Celsius puzzle with CFKDN letters, he argued with Liza and said there were THOUSANDS of combinations. That is essentially wrong. There are only 5*4*3*2*1 = 120 combinations of those 5 letters to try. Trying 120 combinations would not take that much time, and so risking being burnt alive in that chamber was not worth it. Obviously Rae was quite stupid....
That's assuming each letter is only used once. Like Rae says, if an answer like CCCCC is possible, the number of possible solutions quickly shoots up to the ~3K range!

Firefox refuses to load this game. Chrome loads it (very slowly but still) and always crashs after I've clicked on "The fourth elements hotel". In the meantime, the game totally eats my memory and processor resource alive, even when only Chrome is running this only single page. I often have a hard time playing Unity or WebGL games but this one is the worst of all. Come on, do I really need a godlike computer to play this? More seriously, is there anything to do? I skipped the first badge when it was added because of that but now, I'd really want to complete the Kong quest.

Whoops I guess it is a restricted set also. But the flow really had me believing that the game knew what I was doing. Great Job :-)

Wow, I am impressed with this game. The decision tree logic for the dialog is great! (In other words, the reactions to your choices have been nicely fleshed out. Most games like this tend to have a more restricted set of reactions to the choices )

I KNEW it would be fire next! no sprinklers, warming up... of course it is so obvious that I'm making a fool of myself in the comments section. Great game, though.

I was playing and the game and I absolutely love it. But the webpage said that it couldn't show the game and when I reloaded I lost all my progress.

This was fun when I played to chapter 3. Less fun when I opened the game again, and had to start from chapter 1. It was not fun when I finished level 6, computer crashed, and again, I had to start from level 1. Do fix the save issue. There is no fun pressing quickly clicking through the story to get back to the chapter I was on.

i haven't yet gotten around to playing the game, because when i click the option named "the four elements hotel" the page crashes with an error:- aw,snap

if you keep enter pressed in it fast forwards at a much higher pace through all the text for those that just need the badge and don't really like these types of games. Bump up if you find it helpfull please fpr others.

Way too sluggish. End up missing text because it doesn't move and I expect it to need a click to move but finally when text appears I've already clicked past the first line.
Sorry to hear the game isn't running great on your machine - it's a pretty big memory hog. If you miss text, you can use the scroll wheel or arrow keys to review past messages.

Whoops. There already is an option to go back through dialogue (scroll wheel/left arrow key). I still think that preset save points in important parts of each chapter would be a nice addition, though. It also doesn't allow for repeating decisions.

This game is extremely slow to load, change scenes and in general slow paced. It is taking me forever to get through the first 3 episodes. It was saving the 3rd chapter and sat there for several minutes before crashing. I reloaded the page and again sat waiting for it to load and when it did it started over from the beginning. I tried the link in the sidebar and that took me to a page that didn't exist. I went to the games home page and read the FAQ's. Tried the OPEN trick but that didn't do anything. I clicked the extras and it says to complete the chapters to unlock that. I have spent an hour getting to chapter 4 and I didn't find it all that fun. A novel to read and then a puzzle that didn't make much sense. Repeat 3 times and start over? I think not. Shame this was put in the Best of 2017 games.

The option to skip dialogue, rewind chapters or use "save points" throughout each chapter would help the game a decent bit; as it heavily relies on story, missing dialogue can damage the experience. You also might want to take a different option in a decision, or refer to all hint dialogues if you solve a puzzle early. Currently, the only way to do that seems to be replaying the chapter altogether. Rarely, exiting the chapter immediately and then resuming can take you back one or two lines... which isn't all that helpful.
