Under rating threshold (show) I've always wanted to get into this sort of game, but never found an easy introduction. This game gives me that, and it does so with restful BGM and its own distinct feel. I'm not even close to finished, but I like what I've seen so far. As someone else pointed out, some of the controls are easy to dismiss as background - the coin and the magnifier. This is especially true given the drink-cup stain that's also on the right side. Knowing they're there, they're easy to spot, but they blend in a little too well! Still. Top notch presentation, and the fact that it auto pauses on leaving frame is a nice touch.

Under rating threshold (show) Aha! I finally noticed the magnifier. (It's so stylish I thought it was just set dressing.) It makes it much easier to shrink the larger puzzles. I suggest that you default every puzzle to showing at a size that shows all the numbers, and highlight the magnifying glass the first time a player does a puzzle that has to be shrunk (possibly with a pop-up). Also, trying to resume a saved game freezes the entire flash module for me (no response from clicking anything), which is kind of a bummer, as I want to play the complex puzzles on breaks.

Under rating threshold (show) A great game until you get to the grandmaster levels. Even fully zoomed out, you can't work with the larger boards unless you move them around. But moving them is clunky, since the game pauses if your mouse pointer leaves it. The numbers also tend to get in the way, and the color can be hard to make out over squares that are already filled.

Under rating threshold (show) I really like this style of puzzle, but I find the lack of color-contrast very frustrating. Gray numbers with white backlighting? I can only play one puzzle a day as my eyes hurt from all the squinting by the time I solve it.

Under rating threshold (show) I really like this kind of puzzle, it's enjoyable, interesting and challenging. This format makes it really difficult in a bad way - hard to see the list of numbers when you need them and they cover the puzzle when they pop out, and you forget they are hidden so it's easy to screw up. Really needs a bigger window so you can see the complete list of numbers without it intruding on the puzzle while you're solving it.

Under rating threshold (show) I love picross, and this is one of the better versions I've found. However, it's really really difficult to see the light grey color. It's also really tricky to keep track of the numbers when they expand into the drawing, because they become difficult to read. I keep messing up because of the format of the game, not because I'm not good at picross, which is a little frustrating.

Under rating threshold (show) there should be better contrast between some colors and definitely a full screen mode. Apart from that it's a great addicting puzzle game :-)

Under rating threshold (show) Journeyman 11 does NOT need a guess. Say C1R1 is bottom left row and column. Then you can fill in C5R7 because of the 6 in row 7. That means C5R10 must be an X, otherwise there would be a chain of 4 in C5. Now, if row 10 had a 3 to the left of this X, then C2R10 and C3R10 would be filled in. This would mean that C2R9 would be filled in, but C3R9 would be an X, which is impossible as row 9 has a 3 in it. So, the row 10 3 must be to the right of the X in C5R10. Then you can fill in C8R10. Easy from there.

Under rating threshold (show) WHY, just WHY not leave enough space near the frame so the numbers could fit. I HATED it when the numbers pop up only when I'm on the related column/row. Yes, good game concept but that has nothing to do with this specific game. It's sad that the graphics and shapes are actually cool and the number and difficulty level of the puzzles are pretty satisfying, because it's still unbearable to me.

Under rating threshold (show) A well done example of one of my favorite types of game. Just wanted to say that sometimes the colors do not provide much contrast - I'm not colorblind, but the brown and the purple on the last Journeyman puzzle (the potion) are really hard tell the numbers apart. It's kind of important.

Under rating threshold (show) Nice game... but did you really have to make the red and green colors so obnoxiously close together? I'm red/green colorblind, and while I can often tell the two apart, when the shades are close or not particularly vivid, it's very difficult, particularly when they're not against a white background to begin with :(
