Under rating threshold (show) I've been playing runescape for around six years now and I still come back to do more on a regular basis. It's an amazing game, and while it's not the flashiest it has an incredible amount of depth. Not being limited to a certain class is also nice, it allows one character to do anything in the game world and there's almost always a way to get something for yourself. The only thing that bugs me is like many mmos once you get to higher levels you're pretty much limited to grinding to get reasonable amounts of xp in a skill and that can get tedious.

Under rating threshold (show) To anyone who does not favor the newer combat system over the old one: You can revisit a carbon copy of Runescape as it was in August of 2007. You will start as a level 3 off Tutorial Island, but you will have all the benefits that "Old RS" had. You need to be a member to do this, however.

Under rating threshold (show) ive looked back at the last 100 comments and noticed not one person has mentioned that this game gets updated normally each week. (mainly members updates but still it updates) Also level 136 member here ^^ (check my hiscores on the normal rs website if you want, my display name is bappie) been playing it since 2006 and im still nowhere near maxing out all my stats, very long game with so many different things to do. and Terenco12345, there is a limit to leveling up, all skills go to 99, except dungeoneering which goes to 120, the max combat level on a F2P is 126 and max for member is 138.

Under rating threshold (show) RuneScape gets bad press quite often from people who have never gave it a chance. RuneScape is not graphically amazing, true, however keep in mind it's a browser based. It's also got quite a lot to offer non paying players (and what do other games, EG: WoW offer you? Up to level 10?) One of the greatest things about RuneScape is, unlike other MMORPGs, it doesn't solely revolve around combat. You can do a hell of a lot of other things without having to even touch a monster - a lot of freedom without the restrictions of combat. Those of you saying RuneScape sucks drop by the chat and we'll help you get started and get you on the way to enjoying the game :-)

Under rating threshold (show) Tip for the poor. Since the trading place has been updated you can fill your inventory with clay and go to fountain and turn to soft clay. It is very cheap and earns money fast.

Under rating threshold (show) If you have food, you can run through the stronghold of security for a free 10k, four emotes, and the best boots in f2p. Also, the stronghold of player safety will give you another 10k and the best gloves in f2p until you reach 40 ranged. Go through the barred doors and open the chest in the middle of the room.

Under rating threshold (show) This game has been around for a very long time, but if your only playing as a f2p then you will see bot spam in every major bank telling you to go to websites to buy money, not only do the bots spam in major player areas, the bots cut all of the yew trees and steal all of the fish. Other than the STUPID bots, this game is pretty good. It definetly deserves atleast a 4 for staying loyal to its players and being affordable to would-be members.

Under rating threshold (show) I hate people who continously go 'It's not about grahpics it's not about graphics!' when you say their favourite game has bad graphics and then they themselves go on to say RuneScape has bad graphics - I thought it wasn't about graphics... 'Mario's the best game ever you don't like Mario because you're a graphics whore!!!!!!' then they say 'Eurgh RuneScape like gayscape that game has crappy graphics' and they laugh at you.

Under rating threshold (show) Weebelz, you just prooved my theory of Jagex not working hard enough wrong. For one week of going back to this game after a long time of seperation I noticed the high amount of bots. I said to friends that Jagex is getting lazy with the game but I was wrong (And a bit stupid, they update this game constantly). So I started reporting every bot I saw, and now guess what? An update for less bots! Perfect, just great! Thanks Jagex! (5/5 of course)

Although it may not be the flashiest game, with the most amazing combat display or graphics, it is one hell of a game. The quest system is brilliant, the daily updates are fantastic, and i can go on with this list for days. Why is this game rated so low? I dont know. Should it be rated that low? No.

Under rating threshold (show) This is, literally - I mean literally; it's voted so time and time again by different companies and polls - THE best online game EVER. Maybe the graphics and sounds aren't too great, but there's a reason: it's a browser game. I would rather have no graphics at all than have to download something. Also, compare it to WoW or any other MMORPG. Most are $15/month and have almost no free trials; this is $6/month, or can be played infinitely without spending a single cent. There are hundreds of millions of accounts on this game, they can't all be wrong. Give it a chance before you downrate it.

Under rating threshold (show) As I know, Most MASSIVE MMORPG games get downrated for this reason or that reason, but they don't give it a chance because they are a newb at it. Give it a try. See if you like it, if you do continue. If not stop reading this comment. You are just wasting your time if you don't like it. You don't know if you like it if you haven't tried it yet. Wow, what does WoW let you get up to for free now? Level 20 and basically all it is combat. In Runescape you can get up to 126 for free, and theres alot to do without combat, just like Eambo as said. I would like to end it with, DON'T HATE MMORPGS YOU HAVEN'T TRIED YET, ITS JUST SO ANNOYING. That is why the rating is so low, but it is so fun.

Under rating threshold (show) jagex put ALOT of effort into this as if you think of it, how big is the land of runescape? how many items and and other things are there? how many npc's are there and their wide ability to of features to talk? to put all that into a game and to make it work must have took a lot of effort and research i am proud to play such a game and say i like it!
