I would come back to this game and keep getting a little better maybe once a year since 2007ish when it was featured, and I finally beat it today - awesome little game. :D

Right above Pluto is the last set of slide-able stars, as far as I can tell. If you can do a jump off of those ones, you'll be eating at the restaurant very soon :)

To call this game "mediocre" would be fairly accurate. It has numerous flaws, the biggest one being that there's no obvious way out of "free swim" other than to reload the entire page. That, combined with what seems like no actual story and no motivation to even play makes this a very sub-par game.

I got the fish badge 11 years ago. Each time this game comes up for botd I spend some time trying to do it again, and I never can.

Oh, some of the guys are mentioning the Restaurant at the End of the Universe in the comments section. Obviously, it's an allegory of (as the whole game) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Second book from the trilogy is called Restaurant at the end of the universe. Also, in the novel dolphins are one of the most intelligent species on the Earth (much more intelligent than humans, but still lagging behind the rats.
Finally, may I'm misunderstood completely, but I guess it makes sense

Seems nice entries are the way to build up speed at first, having trouble getting double nice entries. At 93/100 for achievement.

Too random, too little "progress", in-game improvements don't seem to make a lot of sense...Interesting concept, though.

@Wolfy291, best way is to start by getting as much fish to follow you and then breach the water. You can still use the same fish if you get to them accurately and quickly enough after breaching. So get like 2-5 and start building your points and momentum by breaching, get more fish and be awarded the "Schools out" score. Once you have a pretty fast momentum, use the rings for speed boosts and go up up up and away.

Every time this game gets BOTD I am reminded of my failings as a gamer. I once jumped high enough to see the restaurant, but not quite high enough to trigger it :(
